I can't get it to work with my computer sooo. Maybe a MSN chat or something that is more user friendly.. I have windows Vista and it hates everything else.

| Sounds Chaotic, not to be the buzz killer, but think of how many people there are on this site, i'd feel sorry for the experts who would be trying to respond to all these queries in real time simultaneously. Seems like it would be v. confusing and overwhelming.

| i think it would be a very good ideah to have a free flowing chat group and make others part of the discussions so as not to avoid or leave them out everyone brings something different to the topic know what i mean ? im susan and 59 and live in utah and have 4 grown kids and married came to utaqh from michigan after my parents were both dead well actually my mom as dad dies at 85 dec 30th 2006 . i have all sorts of physical dissabilities and a mental dissability because of being abused from age 5 to 51 and im in counsiling for 6yrs and doing pretty good .susan nice to meet you

Hope everyone is doing well today. I guess I opened a can of worms with this topic...lol. I think it is a good option for those that want to participate..it is an optional thing. I wasn't inferring that the message boards be replaced with chat...just in addition to. You wouldn't have to join in on chat if you didn't want to. I know it helped me very much when I quit smoking. Sure, there are days when aggravating folks try to show out but on the whole it was a very possitive thing...I still hope we get some one day.

i think a chat room would be perfect.. one on one conversation...meeting new friends... sure its possible to get the pervs in a chat room... but just ignore it..a pervert will get bored with diet chat rooms...so i hope we do get one ....

Personally, i would rather leave the chatroom thing alone. I think the threads and topics here are a great thing. I've only seen chat areas mess up a good thing on different sites.
If this had begun a chat site it might have been different. Yet i don't know that i would have stayed.
It might start out with good intentions and end up not being the best thing for the site.
You always have those that come in and want to start something, that might find their way in and start calling people things they don't want to hear. If you have been to chat site they can be rather rude... not saying that all people are rude but as we know there are some out there. I would hate to see people come in and say demeaning things to people that come here.
I say leave the chat thing to yahoo or wherever and let this be our topic haven. Why ruin such an awesome thing??!!?

| I agree that a chatroom feature would be fantastic! I'm sure there's a lot more things to consider and a lot of behind-the-scenes work that would have to go into it, but it would certainly be nice.

| That would be great, but its a touchy subject because then you'd have to watch for inappropriate stuff anf it would have to be monitored. But may be specific times to start a chat about specific subjects, not just all the time.

| Public chatrooms on spark would be good, but I'd like to see chat rooms in the teams, too.

I agree. Getting an SP chat room in Yahoo! Messenger, would be safer for the SP servers and still supply the people wanting to chat with a special spot to talk. The chat windows can be left up so they can chat and Spark at the same time.

I love chatting, but I agree that we don't want to slow down the site (and make it cost more to run so that it might not be free anymore??)
I wonder if somebody could just set up one on an mIRC channel and have a link to it? I have no idea how these things work.

I am not good with the idea of a chat room if it is going to slow down the site. Chat rooms also have a way of allowing virus to slip in. The threads are fine for me.
