Could you add a "Blood Sugar" Tracking column to the menu under Nutrition? A column that can be filled in before eating breakfast, lunch, dinner or late evening blood sugar. Also a report to print out what the numbers are for the week or month to show to the doctor. Maybe include the calorie counts with it. Having the numbers next to what I ate would be of immense help in trying to analyze what foods or combinations of food are keeping the numbers lever and where they should be. I would think this could be added only for diabetics. Perhaps a "check box" when joining and as a new member. I would LOVE this. Thank you for any help you can do on this. Diane

You can track your thigh and arm measurements. Under "weigh in and other measurements" you can add another measurement to track, and it can be anything you want. I track my various body measurements there.

There have been some great suggestions here. I love the medical cabinet tracker idea. I'm on thyroid meds and we are still attempting to get the dose right. I'd love to be able to print out a record of what dose I was on during a particular period.

No quite the same as a mood tracker, but tracking my energy level - so some sort of overall "state of being" tracker.

I do measurements on both my thigh and my upper arm. These ones are important to me because I've set my goals based upon getting into certain old clothes. So I agree that being able to enter in these would be great.

I'd love to see a trail rather like exercise.lbl.gov for the virtual walk across America. Their site is great, but very hard to form teams.

I still would like a complete nutrition info page, please link up with nutriondata.com the info is so great to do searches for a specific quality in food.

Add some part of the site as a learning tutorial. There are so many parts that have been added on, that is would be wonderful to have a tutorial (intro for basics and advanced for more progressive tracking). Just like you have the videos for exercise, a video for spark beginners to see how to get around the site.

I love SparkPeople and have found it to be a great tool for me in my "get healthy" challenge. One thing that would be VERY helpful for me and I'm sure many others, would be a list of foods to select from that would assist in building a daily menu. I prefer to design my own daily food plan and when the end of the day approaches I often notice that I need more protein or carbs, etc. I would love to go to a list at that point that would have food selections with a break down of calories, carbs, fat and protein. Often I end up eating the same old thing just because I can't think of anything else. I know that SP has an extensive data base of foods...isn't there some way of searching for foods with XX amount of protein or XX amount of carbs, etc. I hope I am explaining myself well enough. And if such a thing already exists, I would love to know how and where to access it.

I would like to be able to create my own Menu Plans that could be saved so I have things to choose from. I don't use the Spark Menus, but I do log my daily nutrition. I guess using food groupings is a way to do that, but you'd have to build the food grouping in order to see what the totals are, and then modify it from there to get it where you want it. Maybe I'll play with that idea....

I stumbled across a team for the mobile spark access yesterday. It's not publicised because it's beta - they're testing it.

Tyanna you can do that now. You can share your food and/or exercise trackers on your Spark page. Edit your spark page and check the appropriate box in the top right.

I'm not entirely sure if your PT would have to have a Spark account to view it, (I don't think so), but at the very least, it's better that than giving out your own password!

I wish there was a way to make my food diary visable to people (like my PT) without having to give out my password. If there was a 'See My Food Dairy' on the spark page for something, so that I could pass him a link, and he could give enter in his suggestions from there, that would really rock! :P

I don't know if this had been mentioned already, but it would be really convenient if more of the site links were structured so you could right click on them and open them in a new window rather than being javascript:void. There's an awful lot of necessary clicking and navigating back to where you started the way things are set up now.

SP is great and getting better all the time. I see lots of good ideas here, like having calendar reminders on your start page. A way to chat with other members, especially in a team would be terrific. Here is my wish list...

1. To save time...a drop down menu within an open email that lets you move it to a folder right after you read it, instead of going back to the inbox, looking it up and clicking on a bunch of stuff again.

2. an 'add blog' button on my spark page, so I don't have to click edit page and wait for it to load, then click on the 'add blog' button there.

3. I would also be able to delete more than on item from the meals and snacks at one time. If you accidentally add a food group to the wrong meal, it takes a long time to delete 5 or 6 food items one at a time.

There are more, but these are most important to me. Thanks for all you have already done so far too.

One more thing...
I just discovered the fact that Sparkpeople is available as a mobile page, accessible to blackberries/phones etc. (mobile.sparkpeople.com)
I didn't find this anywhere on the SP site, just stumbled into it when doing a google search.

SP site developers - can you please make this more accessible to sparkers, and more well known? I think it's a great tool, use it often, and others should know!

I would love to see the following new features for the Weigh In Page:
1 - Measurements: the ability to track measurements for more than just your waist/hips/neck. It's very motivating to watch my thighs shrink, and I'd love to be able to track other body parts like this.

2 - Notes: I'd love to be able to add notes to your weigh in numbers, the same way that you can add notes to your daily food and fitness tracking. It would be a helpful place to summarize the last week/month since your most recent weigh-in.

I Just wish they would put the Private Team Icons back on the SparkPages.
My Co-Worker and I work very hard for our Team and we spend a lot of hours trying to help as I am sure all the Team Captains do, but why does SP rip us of our Stripes just because we are Private. I really would like a logical answer to that one, other than - "Oh, we did that over two months ago. That much I already know. Are they discouraging Private Teams??

Id like to be able to view my meals one week at a time. When I'm making my menus on the tracker I sometimes forget what items I've added. Then I might have food items that go to waste.

I am so excited to see that some of the requests made here are being implemented! I LOVE that I now have a ticker for my page that shows how many pounds I've lost without saying how much I currently weigh!!!
One thing I would LOVE to see, which has been touched on before, is a place for us to track vitamins and supplement. For me, it would just be a useful reminder, because no matter how much I try, I just can't seem to remember to take those vitamins every day. Plus, I would like to see it all laid out right in front of me that I'm getting enough supplemental calcium, folic acid, etc...
I also really would love to have a menstruation tracker, it would be VERY useful for those of us trying to lose weight to get healthy and ready for pregnancy.

One thing that always bugs me is on the spark points page it doesnt show how many points till next trophy.

Also I'd like to get spark points for reaching mini weightloss goals.

it'd also be cool if spark points unlocked other features it would give a cool insentive to earning them and participating on th esite even more.

Also it'd be nice to be able to decide what info you want on your start page. itd be cool to be able to access my blog directly from the start page instead of having to view the blog and then click to update it. Or better yet be able to log in a have it go sraight to your sparkpage as your start page. Also it doesnt timestamp blog posts

exactly or if it is a maintenance drug and the person is not very good at remembering...maybe it could have a reminder feature to pop ya an email saying TAKE YOUR MEDS!! lol

i have several things i should be tracking, but i really would love to be able to do it here at sparkpeople. this place has become my life line!! and would be great if everything health realted could be right here at my finger tips

i was thinking about this earlier today. i have noticed that their are teams for diabetics, people with asthma, lots of people concerned about sodium and taken meds for high blood pressure and other common ailments. i have also seen women asking for a way to track menstrual cycles. and i am sure that their are a ton of other ailments that require some kind of tracking of meds or symptoms.

i think it would be nice to have a 'medicine cabinet' feature. where we could track things that are a little more private such as things that you would keep in you medicine cabinet.

i personally suffer from migraines and i am 'supposed' to track my symptoms and meds that i take that help. i don't because its kind of a pain to do while i am suffering through one. but i do think i would be more apt to do it if it didn't involve keeping a paper journal.

just a thought!

Okay, so I was actually thinking about this today! I like to have variety in my strength training. I would LOVE a feature where there is a little box in front of each picture exercise that I could check, if I did it, then just like the nutrition tracker, it would bring me to a screen that I could add #'s and reps. Right now, I'm a beginner, and the whole thing confuses me...often I do not even enter it in! Especially since I am still learning the names and techniques. Thank you for reading!

Not sure if this is a repeat, but I would love for the Nutrition Tracker to make separate/move the snack tracker to after each meal to better show when you've eaten snacks, rather than lumping it all into the one snack category at the bottom of each day's page.

I like the idea of being able to track the time, where you were and your mood when you enter in meals/snacks. I joined the Self.com challenge and I like that their's lets you track these. This way when I look back I can get a better sense of my eating habits.

Apple is about to open up software development for their i phone and i pod touch. That means that out side companies can develop software for the Apple products. I was thinking it would be great to have a portable nutrition tracker. You would enter all your foods at the restaurant or friends house... or where ever you eat away from home. That way you are kind of guided on your calorie intake even while eating out. Sometimes eating out can be a weak moment, but if you know what you are about to eat... then maybe not so much. If people see the calories that are about to go into their mouth they will probably choose a healthier option. As opposed to entering the food after they get home and the calories have already been consumed. Once the iphone or ipod-touch comes back in contact with internet it would automatically upload all the info into their nutrition tracker.

Your branding strategy people might say that they want to encourage sp members to eat at home because it tends to be healthier that fits more with the healthy values of sp.
However, this company is all about "making your life an adventure" and that means not all adventures happen at home where meals are safe. Keeping people on track and motivated away from home is a great way to make sure the tools of sp are always with them.

As someone said earlier, down loadable work out videos would be cool to take around on an ipod touch/phone too. I can picture myself going to the park and doing aerobics.

I absolutely love the site. There are so many features but they are all so clear and neatly organized that tracking is not overwhelming.

It would be fantastic to have a menstruation cycle tracker added. There´s a few on the web, but I´m sure the SP Team could come up with one easy to use and with a great layout.

I would love to get points for things like reaching a weight loss goal (5 pts for every 10 pounds lost).

I also thing that we should get more points for posting to the message boards or reading articles: 3 points for up to 10 posts a day or credit for 5 articles, instead of three.

- I would like to be able to pre-plan my meals the way SP does it for me so I could then check the things I actually eat. I know I can change SP meal plans, but I have limited choices, and if I enter in the morning the food I plan to eat all day, I can't check as I go. I think that'd be useful.

- I would like to get SparkPoints for things such as:

For each lb gained or lost (depending on your goal)
For each day within your kcals
For each blogpost in your webpage
For each week doing all your planned workouts...

You click on "Change Nutrition Goals" near the top of your Nutrition Tracker page, and then "+Add Another Nutrient to Track."

The great changes made to SP so are good.

I do think it would be nice to have a choice of changing the font and font size. It seems like the print is getting smaller and smaller, but there are bigger adds...can we have a larger font. There are some people who have a hard time reading little print...would be nice to change font size..

I think it would be cool to see what other daily values we are getting other than just carbs, fat, etc. When I input food items not on the list, it always asks for vitamins and other nutrients. It would be nice to look back and see "Oh, I'm not getting enough calcium either..." or "I really need to watch my sodium intake."

#1 request, Fix all the food listings that list items as a serving without saving what a serving is?! Be it quantity or weight in grams/pounds or volume in tsp, tbsp, or cups. It's crazy trying to figure out what a "serving" of "steak sandwich" is. This is all too common in multi-serving products where all that is listed is "a serving" with no clue as to what that might be. For example "progresso beef and vegetable soup" lists "1 serving" with no info on what that might be.

#2 request, put in a link to correct wrong food listings. For instance "Mayonnaise, regular (mayo)" (the #1 hit if you search for mayo or mayonnaise) is listed as 57.3 calories per tbsp, it's actually around 100. You can confirm by looking at Kraft or Hellman's. A pretty shocking mistake with no official way to report it or attempt to correct it. I wonder how many people have been using the incorrect value?

#3 request, for any food item added by weight, allow both grams and ounces when used. I'm constantly having to translate grams into ounces and ounces into grams when entering food because user added foods don't support multiple measurements in the dropdown.

#4 request, allow user food groups to be listed as a single item. For instance I added all the items for a "Lee's Sandwich #1" (a popular chain in southern california), but each time I add one of those sandwiches my nutritional info is cluttered up with assorted little food entries for all the ingredients in that sandwich instead of just a "Lee's Sandwich #1".

1. I would like to see on the nutrition page - subtotals of calories, fat, protein, etc. by meal and a grand total if I choose to eat everything on the page. Heck - I would settle for the grand daily totals.

2. The ability to completely take a meal off of a specific day when using the SP Meal Option and add a spark recipe or other foods and it work with #1 above, the menu list and the grocery list.

3. More choices in the SP Menu options. Some have very minor differences from each other and my family likes variety in the meals. The foods and seasonings of those foods are so similar we all feel like we're on a diet instead of a lifestyle change.

4. Snack choices with some protein in the choice.

5. Love the idea from others to spread the eating (snacks) through the day. I'm struggling to eat regularly through the day and find I avoid the snack till end of day which is beginning to not look like a good thing.

I wish for all of the things listed. I am really wanting the idea of doing the recipe by listing particular foods. I would love to put in chicken and get all the chicken recipes or chick peas and find all the recipes that have them in them.

These things should have been added to the site/technical message board, someone from Sparks always responds!

I also wish you could adjust the amount of a food that you've entered in you nutrition log without having to delete the food and reenter it. If I have half a cup of something, instead of the cup that I planned, I'd like to just be able to edit the amount!

This one may seem trivial after reading other very important ones.

A lot of people that I talk to express the desire for more options to use with the weight loss tracker. More backgrounds and more ticker figure options.

People really enjoy personalising their page. It keeps it fun :)

I wish that the meal plans could somehow use food I keep in my favorites or food groupings so that I was more likely to eat them. Granted, I could just plan all meals a week ahead of time, but that's still time consuming, and I rarely find the foods on the meal plans to be something I would eat, even after I individualize them.
Also, I wish sharing food was more user friendly. If my husband and I eat the same meal, we both have to find the food and add it to our own individual nutrition trackers. It would be nice if somehow they were linked, or I could view his nutrition through his sparkpage and somehow select it to add to my nutrition.
Or if I find someone's daily meals to be inspiring, I wish I could just click one button to make their past nutrition log, my meal plan for that day, or days in the future.
Does any of that make sense? I just wish it was easier to share some of the nutrition aspects of sparkpeople, especially with my own friends and family.

Oh!!! And I wish we could use the recipe calculator to add an entire meal to our food journal without saving the recipe to share with everyone. Sometimes I make a few modifications to existing recipes--using reduced fat options, omitting half the oil, etc--and because it's essentially the same recipe I don't want to save it to share. But I don't always want to break each Tbs in my recipe down into the individual portions to add to my food log, either. Maybe it's just laziness on my part--I know I could just put each individual portion into the food groupings so that I don't have to add them every time, but I love having the recipe calculator, I really like seeing how it all fits together!

I had two biggies on my wishlist. One was being able to track 6 individual meals--instead of just breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack--including the time you ate those meals, and maybe an emoticon option to help emotional eaters figure out emotional eating patterns. That way if I am constantly reaching for chocolate when I'm anxious, I would have that visual cue to show me that pattern. (Makes sense in my head, but I'm not sure if I'm expressing that properly!)
My second wish was to be able to track fiber, but I just read an earlier post saying I can do that, I just have to change my settings, so SP is definitely a step ahead of me on that one! :)
I also love the idea of a to do list that you can check off on your main page.
Oh, and I wish there was another kind of ticker where you could JUST track pounds to lose down to your goal weight. A lot of us, especially those of us in the 100+ to lose range, don't want to put our starting weight out there for everyone to see--especially if we're spreading the spark to coworkers and associates that we wouldn't feel comfortable sharing those numbers with in real life! Those tickers really are a great motivational tool, but it will be a while before I want my coworkers to see how much I weigh!!! If, for example, my ticker started at "121 lbs to lose" and ended at "GOAL WEIGHT", I'd be much more comfortable displaying that!

Two things that I wish were different on this site. The first one is a feature to be able to remove yourself from someone's sparkpage. I've been added as a friend to people I do not know and there is no way to remove myself if I wish.

The second thing I wish were different is the new feature under "My Nutrition" that calculates how many veggie and fruit servings you've had. Well, I would like to see that work automatically so when I enter in what I've eaten throughout the day, if it satisfies a serving of fruit or veggies than have it fill in automatically. I never use that feature right now because I have no idea how to calculate what a serving of fruit or veggies would be with the food I eat.

I would love to be able to copy over menu plans from one day to another.

Sometimes I know I'll be eating the same thing the next day or perhaps 2-7 days later and it would be great to have an option to do so.

Ok, I just thought of a wish...I wish I could read my comments (and add comments on others' pages) without loading my page-because it takes so long to load!!! Really, I wish I could get a faster connection, but it's not available here, so I have to make do...
