I wonder if it makes a difference which way round you have your messages?
I have mine sorted last post on top, if it matters.
Suppose I post message 3 in a thread, I will have an email when message 4 is posted. However many more post before I get the email, it will take me to message 4.
If yours doesn't do that, remember that if you navigate through the "my recent posts" it will take you to the last message you left on the thread...maybe that will save some time trawling through the pages.

Hmm...when I click on the link from my email, it takes me to the beginning of the thread, not the new posts. Weird.

I agree, it would be great!
A workaround for the meantime, Michelle, is to subscribe to the thread (using the button at the top) and instead of navigating back to it through the site, use the link on your email. That will take you straight to the first post after you subscribed.
A "go to first new post" button would be great though!

I'd love it if there was a way that when we go back to a particular thread we could be returned to the first new post instead of having to comb through the whole thread (sometimes many pages) to find out where the new post starts. I belong to some other message boards and most of them do it, so it shouldn't be too difficult to set up.
I love this site, though. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining!
