Do any of you use yahoo messenger or msn messenger...we could all chat in live time that way. Let me know what you think.

!LUCY! KEWL STUFF - thanks
For you to access the sparkmail, just click on the tab from your home page and type in the nick name of the person you want to msg. Make sure you have the spelling right, I have had troubles locating ppl because of that lol
Thanks again and I hope you get your spark page figured out

CATSMEOW1969, I'd be happy to help you, just trying to figure out how to send sparkmail, or can you post your email address? otherwise, if you go to groups.msn.com i think it is quite straight forward. near the top there is a blue box and it says "create your own group" so click that. If you already have a hotmail or msn account, you can log in straight away, otherwise, create a free account.(get a .net passport) Once you are signed in, you need to name your group and write a desciption... The next page is a little confusing... 1) rate your group, i imagine it would be general (ie suitable for kids and adults...) 2) membership - can anyone join (public)? or do they need to ask you for permission first (public restricted)? (that way only your spark friends would join) or do you want to invite members individually (private)? i'd guess public restricted is most appropriate 3), 4), 5), 6) i'd leave as the default values...
on to the next page... chose a category... Health... Diet and Nutrition would be a good bet
The next page is your personal preferences... can the group members read your email address, do you get copies of all the messages in your inbox, or read them online etc... Then click create! If your group name was already used by someone else, you'll have to chose a new one...
after all that, the chat link will appear on the left handside!!
when you want to tell your spark friends about the new group, post the link to your thread...
eg http://groups.msn.com/thirtyplusonsparkpeople/ or whatever name you chose :)
hope that all works for you, otherwise PM me, and I'll help you out again :) I'm going to post this on a new thread too, as I guess quite a few people might like to do this :)

!Lucy! I am unsure how to do that...maybe you could help me get started on that by emailing me? I would really appreciate it because I believe that my 30 somethings would enjoy hookin'up and talkin direct! Thanks for the idea, that rocks!
Hi NoChoice - welcome to SP and you dont need to spend money to work out. I know you hate it, as did I! I dont have the problem you do but my mother does. She is 60 this year and finding it harder and harder to move at times.
My suggestion to you is get involved on the Fibromialgia message board. They all have the same difficulties as you do and can support you to the fullest degree.
One thing I know though, if you dont start moving now, you will find yourself getting worse as you get older - to the point where you are unable to do much including walk to the neighbourhood store without a great deal of pain.
Good luck with it and I certainly hope you find that the thread helps. Also, it doesnt really cost a huge amount to buy tension bands, a swiss ball and matt.
We are all here for you and know you will find a way to make this work!

HI Jen, Help I need some motivation to get started. I hate ( I know that is a strong word)but I do hate exercise. I used to belong to Curves and that really worked out until I couldn't afford it anymore. I have fibromyalgia and need the exercise, I do not have anything at home for strenght training and I hate walking...Any ideas, all comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Jo, if you want to chat to your motivators, you could set up your own msn group... this has a chat facility, so you could post on SP to say you're online, then move over to msn... I do this with a teachers forum in the UK... Lucy x

Jo,
We used to have live chat but discontinued it b/c it was not used enough. It's not something we plan to do in the near future, but doesn't mean we wouldn't bring it back at some point.
Thanks for the feedback!
Coach Jen

I have been chatting for many years and one thing I noticed while surfing the site is I would love to talk to my motivators in "real time". I only know if there is a response to my msg boards because I leave my MSN open and use my MSN email address for notification.
I have a few SP friends in Australia, a buddy in NZ and a bunch in the states that I KNOW are on here a great deal leaving msg's on the boards. Heck, they leave 7 a day, EACH, on my fav topic boards lol
Anyways, just wondered how feasible it would be ... I know it can be a time consuming project as there may need to be monitor's but I bet there are a ton who would be willing to support the site!!
Anyways, I would love to know what the prospects are
