Like many of you, I think I've read most of the articles here already. Sometimes I find one I know I've read, but I haven't got points for because when I first started on the site I didn't realize I could get points. The first thing I do is to scroll to the bottom and see if it says points were already earned. Lately I haven't had much free time and I haven't even bothered to look at the articles except for the ones in the emails because it takes a long time to find something I haven't already seen.

I also find it incredibly frustrating to click through many of the articles before I find one I haven't read. Most days it just isn't worth the time, but I do enjoy reading them when I find ones I haven't read yet.

It sounds like you can read two different types of articles....the ones which are in the Resource Center and they have just started putting new by them (that helps!) and also by signing up for some of the emails...I tried to sign up but wasn't computer savy enough to know how to access HTML which is the format they came in so I would second the idea about having a way to know if we have read an article and also more information regarding other articles that we can read for points...

Unfortunately, all the articles in the emails are not new, either. However, I have gotten about 1 new one each week recently, so that's better than nothing at all.

Hello Everyone!!!

I understand what you all are saying about having a feature to show you if you have read an article. Yes, after you have been on the site for quite some time you end up reading all the articles. It is true that they send out an e-mail each week that contains about 3 new articles. You can sign up for the articles by going to your "My Spark", Account/E-Mail Preferences, Manage E-Mail Preferences, and select "The Weekly Spark". Then you will automatically receive the new e-mail each week with the new articles.

I am in agreement with the check mark. It takes so so so long to find an article that I have not read. Points are a major motivation for me. I tried to get as close to max a day as I can. Personel challenge.
I think I have read pretty much close to everyone. 3 per week is not enought when you are allow than many per day for points. We need help, please. Love this site and want it to work at the higher level.
Thanks for all that read this.

This may sound really funny, but I'm glad the folks who've been on the board for a while have mentioned the issues about finding new articles - rather than read everything on day one, I've been pacing myself and reading only my three articles a day - I think I get more out of each article... there have been some times that I felt that my interest wasn't satisfied, but hopefully I'll have new things to discover months from now and I'll stay motivated!

Let's hope they give us a box to check them off after we read them, too. It would nake it so much easier. Take care, Connie

I had an email from Jen; She says that they post 3 new articles per week, but I do agree about finding it very difficult to know which ones they are.

We can get points for 3 a day but I think they only put out about 3 new ones a week. It gets hard to find them after you have been here awhile. No points but I love to reread some of them.

I've had this problem too! I think I've read all the articles, but it would be nice to know for sure in case I'm missing out on something.

Maybe if they read this message, they'll figure a way for us to mark them, making it easier to keep track. They are good like that. Love you Spark People.

I too have found it frustrating to find unread articles each day. I think after you've been active on the site for awhile, this is an issue. I really enjoy the articles but I've given up trying to find ones I haven't read because 1) it seems as though I've read them all now and 2) I don't have the time to sit and click on each one to check.

Today, I spent most of my morning clicking on each of the articles in the motivation section here on Spark People. I went through EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE ARTICLES, checking for something I had not previously read. Finally, I found one that I had not read, and after reading it through, VERY QUICKLY claimed my Spark Points. Now I have read all of the MOTIVATIONAL articles! I still need to read 2 more articles to get today's points. Yes . . . I AM running short on time, but I need to read them all. I just wish there was a way to mark them all so I would know which ones I still needed to read. I guess now for the MOTIVATIONAL section, I will just watch for ones marked "NEW".

Now I am going to start checking through the articles in the fitness section. Ah Ha - I found one I hadn't read. It was the one about exercising with your pet. Now that I've read it, if I ever get a pet other than a cat, I'll know what to do for it & me at the same time. OK, one more to go today, then if I have time, I am going through all of them & then will email the titles to myself, of the ones I still haven't read, so I can go straight to them next time I need new articles to read. Wish me luck! Alright! I found my last one for today fairly quick. It was about "Think Fit, Not Fast". Pretty interesting, but only a few will work for me. I live way out in the country & just have not worked my way up to walking, jogging, or running 13 miles to pick up laundry or groceries, yet. And I can't hang the laundry out until I get a new clothes line. I love the smell of laundry that has hung on the line, especially my sheets & pillowcases. I also love the rough feel of the towels on my skin after a bath. It helps take off more of the dead skin cells, leaving me smooth & shiny & soft.

OK, now I'll go through the rest of the articles to put in an email. Then tomorrow I'll do the same for the Nutrition section. Then I will have cut the amount of time I have to sit at the computer each day, so I can get on with finishing more projects and getting even more exercise by picking Loganberries, Blackberries, Raspberries (if there are any of them left), hiking, kayaking, & general 1/2 farm work. I also have to finish my future Grand-daughter's personalized applique quilt, since her mommy is dilated 2 cm already. Wish me luck, and take care everyone, Connie
