| I'm a type 2 diabetic on insulin. I do have counselling through our diabetic clinic with both the nurses and dieticians. I can't tell you how much this web site has helped me get my food more balanced. My sugar levels are coming down as a result. This web site is an amazing resource for diabetics.

Hi Nikki!
It's okay for her to use this program as long as she's not using our nutritional recommendations. Our dietitian made the decision that all diabetics should be meeting with a dietitian one on one to create meal plans specific to their needs. Then she could use our tools to track how she's doing and get support to help her reach her goals (we will be changing the language of that registration page very soon). Diabetics have different needs, so we did not feel comfortable trying to create a general program that all diabetics could follow.
Hope that helps!
Coach Jen

Hi, my name is Nikki and yesturday my mom was so excited to get started on this the sp program, but when she was entering her infromation to begin she indicated that she was a type 1 diabetic, which informed her that she was unable to join the website. I was just wondering why the meal plans, exercise plans couldn't work for her too? I know that she has to watch her carbohydrates. Wouldn't this program help her do that? I was just curious if you could give us more information on why diabetics are unable to use this program, or why it couldn't be customized for someone with type 1 diabetes? I am new at this program myself, but I love it so much and was so excited to share it with my mom, so that we could help be each others support together. Thanks for any information you could give me.
Nikki
