It would be nice to edit just an ingredient when you're inputting everything. If you do it wrong now, you have to delete it and then add it all over again. Kind of inconvenient.

They read the forums and will answer your questions when they can.
In terms of the recipe calculator. It's wonderful but there is always room for improvement!
1. There should definitely be a way to edit recipes, especially ones that aren't shared. I had to delete and recreate my personal tuna salad recipe 3 times before I got it in correctly.
2. When adding ingredients, there doesn't seem to be a way to add previously entered ingredients you've entered yourself. They don't show up on search and you can't access your own favorites here. This should be added, especially since if we duplicate something we already have, there's no way to delete it off our manually entered foods list!

| Doesn't look like it. If its just in your directory, it shouldn't matter. If it was shared with SP, thenmaybe try to get ahold of one of the experts.

| Is there a way to edit a recipe you have added? I added a recipe for Easy Chicken Cacciatore Bake---unfortunately I typed in Back instead of Bake.

Very awesome, just trying it out today! Would definitely love to be able to edit recipes and for there to be a link to my manually entered foods (so that I didn't have to enter the nutritional values for the same food over and over again).

Under the nutritional info there's an add to tracker button. You can also put it in your favorites with the button at the bottom of the page.
Also, to the spark team - the remove ingredients option now in the recipe calculator is a big help! Thanks!

I love the new recipe feature, but I'm having troubles with it. I've only added one recipe so far and I haven't been able to figure out how to add it to my meal tracker. When I click on the recipe, there's no button to add it. Can you only add foods that have been approved because as far as I can tell it hasn't been yet. As far as the other suggestions made, I think they're a good idea: being able to edit and being able to add your own ingredients. I'd also like to suggest more recipe categories. The recipe I added was for pancakes and I had to put them in the snack category because there's none for breads. However, I want to reiterate that I love this new feature. . and will enjoy it even further when I've figured it all out!

| all great ideas but just wondering about having more tabs like a regular cookbook because i never know what tab to look under for french toast or salads so having more tabs would help

| I see what you are saying, Dave, but I think that to not do so really decreases the usefulness of the utility. We have to track the food we are actually consuming. We need to be able to calculate based upon what we are eating, not the averages of someone else's ingredients. Maybe to alleviate the burden of you having to check the ingredients, you could add the "add a food not listed" button but not allow recipes using non-standard ingredients to be shared.

| We will likely not do this, since we would need to check the nutritional information for ingredients in addition to checking the recipe when approving Shared recipes.

In addition to needing an edit button - is it possible to add the 'enter a food not listed' option that is available with the food tracker, to the food entry in the cookbook? My recipes are coming out much higher in sodium than they actually are, because the low sodium foods I use are not in the SP database, and are one's I usually enter on my own. Also - a way to change the number of servings, (I guess that would go with the edit feature...)

| There is not a way to enter a specific serving size, just to enter the number of servings so we can calculate the nutrition info per serving.

| seriously loving this feature. It's great to be able to input recipes I already have just to see what I REALLY am putting in my body calorie and fat wise. It's a great tool, and honestly one of first things I looked for when I joined. I'm glad you guys put it up for us!

I love the Spark recipes and it´s been great to get all these new ones from members. I was just wondering if it would perhaps be possible to rate the recipes once we´ve tried them. Maybe with stars like Amazon does etc.

| I'm adding my vote for the "edit recipe" button, please. I need to tweak just one part of a recipe I entered and don't want to take another 30 minutes to delete the goofed up one and enter all the info again. Thanks! When the kinks are worked out, this will be an AMAZING feature!

I didn't realize until just now that this was a new feature that started 7/5, since I joined SP on 7/7. I've been using it, though, and think it's a great idea.
The only problem I've had is that I entered an ingredient, realized I forgot to adjust the amount, and had to scrap the whole recipe and start over because I couldn't delete it once it was entered. So I guess all the previous comments about editing would hold true for me too.
But otherwise, I love this feature!

DAVE: Wow. this is an awesome feature!! we have waited and asked for this feature for a while now. and as usual the sparkteam delivers!
i was wondering if it would be possible to make the recipe creator more like the original one (from My home/nutrition tab) with a "favorites" function so that when we add items that are not in the food search database, we only have to enter the info once! --instead of having to add it every time i would like to add another recipe, for example, i have "becel light margarine" in some of my own recipes but i would rather not have to keep entering it in... or maybe both searches can be linked together (current favorites can be reached from new recipe calculator) am i making any sense? i think that would be so much more easier and less time consuming for those of us that will be using this feature quite often as i know I will. thanx!

I entered a recipe for Cheese Pennies--an outrageous concoction and a family favorite. When I click on the recipe graphic to visit my recipe for Cheese Pennies, it tells me that 1 serving (1 oz.) is 113.4 calories. When I click "Add to the food tracker" and then click to see the nutritional information, it lists one serving as 95.8 calories. And when it shows up on my day's list, it shows 1 serving at 96 calories.
I cannot search for this recipe from the Nutrition Tracker. Any search, in any combination, shows "No foods found." If, however, I visit the drop-down menu of my Favorites, there it is. Sigh.
I'm sure that you all are working furiously on this great feature, given the number of people who have asked for it and responded to the announcement. I think it will need further development, however, to be really useful--at least to me.

Walksfar, we do plan in the future to have a more advanced recipe search, which would indeed let people search for recipes flagged as gluten free.
Verdag, they should typically be approved in 2-3 days, but it could take up to 2 weeks, depending on the volume of recipes we have to approve. You can check your list of recipes on your MyCookbook page to see the status of your recipe approval. You will not be emailed when your recipe is approved, but that's a good idea we'll look into.

| What a great feature. I love it. If it is going to be approved about how long will that take? Will we be notified or how will we know when the recipe has be approved?

Could there be a new catagory added to the recipes for gluten free recipes. That way those of us who are allergic to gluten wouldn't have to search through all the recipes looking for ones we can use.

| If you click on Resource Center/Recipes, you can click the graphic to the right for MyCookbook to see recipes you have saved. If you click on a recipe there, you can add it to your tracked food. Also, if you save it as a Favorite....you'll be able to add it quickly in the future.

Ah ok. I guess I overlooked that because I was still thinking ala favorites/food groups.
Well I already screwed up one recipe and didn't realize the "shared" box was checked when I saved it. The number of servings and total quantity for the recipe is wrong.
It would definitely help to have an edit button as well as a delete button for shared recipes submitted (prior to approval). I can see SP staff spending a lot of wasted time reviewing recipes with errors because we don't have any way to edit or delete them once we click save.

If you click on your recipe, there is a button that says "Add to Food Tracker," apparently meaning your own tracker for today. Clicking it makes the recipe show up in the tracker, but not in my manually entered foods.
I already built the recipe elsewhere, so I don't actually need it right now. So if I don't "use" it in today's tracking, it isn't anyplace except back on the recipes list.
I'm confused.

| Mine is still there. I can look at it, but I don't see anyway to use it (i.e. put it on my nutrition plan) from either the recipe page or my nutrition plan page.

I love this new feature and can't wait to get a recipe or two entered.
I do think it needs to be able to edit....if I find out it is too many calories I would change something....an ingredient or servings for instance. Having to type it all in again would not be fun.

Wish we could go back in and edit our receipes once we have saved them...I just put up two and have a couple things to add and change and I can't...is there some way of changeing that? Even if we dont' submit it would be nice to change the recipe if needed.
I like the new feature, but editing ability would really be useful.

Great! Lots of people will be happy about this.
I tried it out and I think it still needs tweaking. When I entered the recipe, it said 117 calories (similar to what I had analyzed elsewhere), but when I saved it, it became 113 calories. And when I tracked it in today's foods, it was 96 calories.

Hi Everyone!
We have a new feature that just launched today!
If you click on Resource Center at the top of the page and then click Recipes, you'll see a new graphic next to the recipe categories. It says "Create Share and Save your own Recipes" and if you click, you'll see the feature.
You can choose ingredients and view their nutritional value, or add some other information (like a recipe title) and save it. You can choose to "share" the recipe or not. If you share it, and we approve it, then everyone sees your recipe and you get SparkPoints.
We hope you like it!!
