Hi,

It would actually be very handy to have dry ingredients like pasta and rice as a pre-cooked weight (ie dry weight). I measure my pasta before I cook it, and as I often cook the pasta with the other ingredients it's a bit hard to measure after cooking.

Thanks for writing! With your questions and comments:

- The white rice thing was a bug, it should now be fixed.
- We're constantly adding to our food database. If you have items that aren't in our database, feel free to post them to our Support Forum, or email them to support@sparkpeople.com.
- Typically, things like meats and veggies and measured on our site as pre-cooked. For dry goods like rice and pasta, the weights are cooked.
- That's a good comment about the groupings, we'll keep that in mind!

Thanks again for writing :)

Hello!

I eat a lot of sushi rice, and whenever I try to add it to my menu, it shows up twice, so I try to remove one and it removes both. I've compensated by entering half the amount I actually eat (so that it shows up twice and equals the right amount), but now I have created a food group that contains white rice, and when I constructed the food group, the white rice item only showed up once, but when I add it to my daily tracker, it shows up twice, so I then have to go in and halve the amount so that it is correct.

It would be great if something could be done to fix this.

Also, I am noticing that there are TONS of foods in teh database that are terrible for you (just about every kind of fast food imaginable plus every kind of packgaged or processed food you can buy), but when it comes to basic ingredients and whole foods the database is seriously lacking. I have only been using this site for a month now to track my foods, but previously had been using Fit Day, and must say that their database is FAR superior. If you could look into acquiring a copy of the database they use and adding it to SP, that would save me SO MUCH TIME. As it is I am using both sites now and loading a custom food into SP 3 or 4 times a week from Fit Day.

If the database could contain both raw and cooked entries (like "raw chicken breast with skin and bone, skin not eaten, yield after cooking") that would help quite a bit with my measuring. Sometimes I buy a 1lb package of something and I know that I've eaten 1/4 of it, but I have no idea how much weight is lost or gained in cooking. This is all included in the Fit Day database by the way.

Also, if you could have an option for your food groupings to show up in the food tracker as just the name of the grouping with the nutrient totals (instead of each individual ingredient) that would make it much easier to remove/adjust for meal planning throughout the week. Some of my groupings have 10 or 15 ingredients and it is very time consuming to remove each one if I decide not to eat it that day. Also when you do remove a food from the tracker, it is a little inconvenient that you get brought to the top of the page each time, and also that it asks you to confirm the delete.

Thanks very much for reading my suggestions!
