| Hey thanks, good to know.

| I have also started using the recipe feature on nutritiondata.com. After I entered the ingredients for a couple of my favorite recipes, I already have many of my frequently used ingredients stored in my "pantry". I love the "real" nutrition label that generates when I am finished. I find it very easy to read. Then I just enter one portion of my recipe into the SP food tracker as a food not listed. Very simple!

| Hi, I used the Food Groupings for recipes too, and have thought it would be great to be able to specify how many servings it makes / serving size as well. Thanks for adding the idea.

I'm relieved . . . and a bit embarrassed. I should have thought of that.
 Good luck with your goals.

Another way to add your own recipes to the SP database is to get the nutritional information elsewhere and then add the recipe as a single item as a "Food Not Listed." I do this with recipes I make frequently, so the time it takes is worth the effort. I use Nutritiondata.com, which gives you a nutritional label for one serving.
When I'm feeling lazy, and the recipe is a pretty common one, I go to a site like Recipezaar.com and copy the nutritional info provided for a recipe similar to mine. But there is a lot of room for error here.

I was just searching the site to ask exactly the same question re food groupings - i want it to come up as Broccili Soup etc etc etc and type in one cup -so I hope Jen you have passed the suggestion on to the PT guys - along with my suggestion of 5 meals a day listings - eating 5 meals a day and not having groups listed as a meal you can imagine what the snacks section looks like!! THANKS so much for fabulous Spark Site.

| I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I do have a few different recipes that include many of the same ingredients though, but they have different values. I like to look back at days I wrote about as being good days (emotionally/physically) in my journal to see what was filling, etc and also look at the days with low calorie counts and see what I was doing well on those days. It is difficult to look back 6 weeks and remember what I was eating, so identifying the name of the food group (or having a recipe cal feature that does this) would be great.

| If you enter a glass of water before and after each "group" entry, you can at least more easily identify each dish. It leaves a bunch of 0000000000 as a divide.

Currently I use the Food Groupings for all sorts of things, but the more I batch cook, the more I use it to store personal recipes so I can easily add a menu item for lunch or dinner. It would be really helpful if there was a step to include how many servings the Food Grouping included. Right now it states that it is one serving, so when I enter my muffin recipe that makes 12 muffins I have to enter .083 every time I have a muffin. I don't like doing the math and sometimes I forget and have to refigure it. It would just be easier if while you were entering all of the ingredients and naming it if you could say it makes 20 ounces or 4 servings, etc.
It would also be nice if when you choose one of your food groupings if it would appear as the title for the grouping instead of a listing of ingredients. It's not as big of a deal when I add my smoothie and that is only 3 ingredients, but when I enter a recipe it could have 10+ ingredients and then it just gets hard to look at what I was eating...maybe making it expandable/collapsable would work??
Or, you could just add another tab to the Add A Menu Item feature (Search, Favorites, Food Groupings and Recipe Calculator) and that way my smoothie could be stored in food groupings because it is one serving and just an easier way to enter the items and recipes could be entered into the Recipe Calculator so that when I make my 12 muffins 1 serving = 1 muffin because that is how I entered the information.
I think this would be really useful and I hope that as SP continues to grow be modified that something like this would be considered.
Thanks!
