Thanks Jen for the reply. The reason I suggested it was that doing the same household chores that I used to do easily are quite strenuous now - due to my chronic illness. I do a lot of walking in and around my house as well as the gardening come Spring. I have Walk Away the Pounds that I do when I am able.
On a positive note, tracking my food intake and trying to incorporate more healthy foods is making my body healthier and much happier.
Rose, thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate your support.

I used to use fitday too, and while it was nice to be able to input things like that, it is so much nicer here....no support forums there.
There is also nothing wrong with just walking. Maybe start with a short walk around the block? Or when carrying those groceries in, only take two bags at a time to extend the number of trips to the car?

Kiki,
The reason we don't count that is because your recommended calorie range assumes that you'll be doing activity throughout the day like you described- housework, walking around the grocery, etc. So to count that as exercise would actually be double counting.
Does that make sense?

I used to track on fitday - I like SP much better.
BUT what I did like on FD was that you could track anything you did during the day ie: housework, laundry, shopping with a cart.....
Due to a chronic ailment, the only real exercise I can do is walk. I am very active around my house and do many things actively that are not exercise generated.
