I agree with fluffy. I used a food grouping for my chili recipe (yes, lots of ingredients!) and last time I had it, I accidentally added the wrong number of servings to my meal planner. I then had to go through and delete each individual ingredient. I wish it could just tally all the nutrients and be recorded as one line in the meal tracker when selected, in the same way that SP recipes are included as one line in the tracker.
I also wish that "Edit a Grouping" gave you the option to edit anything about that food, including the name. I wanted to add into the name the number of servings in the entire recipe for my own future reference, but in order to do so I would have to re-enter everything since you can only change ingredients, not the name of the grouping.

| The other thing that stinks about using the Food Groupings in this way is that each individual ingredient is listed on your nutrition page. It makes it very messy/confusing and god help you, if you need to delete them all!!!

Yes thank you. I assumed I have to divide teh quanities of ingredients down and then portion it up to put each serving in individually. Just seems a bit long winded. When you make things from scratch, it varies each time, but I guess I mustn't be too obsessive about it.
I'll do what you suggest.

| Tip is right, you can enter and find nutritional values by using our Food Grouping feature under Add a Food Not in Meal Plans. Simply enter each ingredient from your recipe. I do this by inputting 1 serving size worth of each item. For example, if the recipe calls for 1 pound of ground turkey and yields 4 servings, enter .25 pounds of ground turkey. Then, when you're finished you'll have the nutritional information for 1 serving.

| I use an Excel spreadsheet to put in all the foods one by one and total everything for me, divide by the number of servings, then I put those totals here under "add a food not listed".

| You can "kind of" input your own recipes using the Food Groupings tab on the 'add a food' window. And I have seen other postings about other websites that allow you to do this. But, I'm with you and going home made and not packaged, preserved and prepared food! (Of course, my kids don't always agree!)

Am I right in assuming there is not afacility to imput your own receipes. I am keen on healthy eating and refuse to feed my family tons of processed foods. I don't ever use ready meals and like to make everyrthing from scractch, whether it's a cottage pie, casserole, pizza with home made bread or even my own muesli. So it's hard to guess or estimate the meals I prepare. Otherwise this appears a fab site.
Thanks for any advice Jx
