thanks so much for the kinds words...and especially about my son. It's certainly been a journey.

I'm so excited to be here amongst those that have gone through and are going through the same challenges as me.

How often does one look forward to 'diet'??

I've been sharing with everyone at the radio station... I want them to be here too!

Again, thanks for the great words...it truly means a lot.

I've been around for two weeks now and it isn't just the tips and the articles that I've found so helpful...it's the people! Everyone is so postive and supportive.

Your son will be in my thoughts...thanks to him and to you for *both* of your sacrifices on our part :-)

Don't think about dieting. Think about changing, eating habits & exercise habits. Before I eat anything I have to record it here first then wait 20 minutes before I actually eat it. It helps me.

Please thank your son for his part in serving our country.

Well...not a newbie to diets, that's for sure!

8 years ago I was in a size 22. 239 lbs. OUCH.

I went lowfat/lowcal and it worked. Size 10-12 jeans were a nice fit.

I then took an International corporate job for the next 6 years. Ohhhh how I hated that job. I drove and flew everywhere....thus getting, what I call 'Secretary Butt'. (Spare tire effect around my back hips). Things got worse when my son went to war. Comfort food was my only security.

I am now a tight 14...should be size 16 but I won't give in to buying a pair.

As I read through all the awesome tips here....oh, how I've been wrong with my diet...or health...or whatever it is I was attempting to do. At 41, my body doesn't react like it used to nor is gravity my friend.

Here's to a healthy and happy lifestyle. Here's to size 10-12 pants. Here's to a new me!
