When entering new foods in the database, please try to put in the number of oz, tbsp, etc. When people put in "1 serving," it makes it hard to figure out just what 1 serving is.

Nerd Hat ON!!
As a software developer, I'm always looking at how systems (software or otherwise) can be improved...It's what I do, so although it miuight SOUND like criticism, it is merely an indicator that I think a system is cool enough to continue using it, and am geeked (pun intended) enough to want to spend brain cycles on it.
That being said...
An agreed upon format for submitting food to the website IN BULK would be REALLY helpful. I have an entire database of info that i have entered for my own nerdly-functions containing fast-food data right from their websites or brochures and food values for pre-fab (stouffers, MorningFarms, etc) items from the manf or other trusted sources.
I could easily export it all into an XML or comma-serperated file for usage, rather than having to input it all by hand again.
Just a thought.
Aside: I recently discovered QDoba, an awesome mexican "Fast Food" place. MY GAWD I love the food. But please, if you value your waistline, stay away. I used their on line resource for the stats / food-value info on my favorite selections there, and let's just say...scary.
I posted about it on my blog (http://www.saraandchuck.com/chuck.htm). Talk about a crushing event. All the good things are bad, with respects to immediate gratification, I guess.

I heard back from Josh in tech support. Here's his reply:
No one else sees the foods you enter unless we "release" them to others. Thanks for being concerned about this, though! As for editing, we don't currently have a way to edit the foods you have entered. Sorry!
At least now I know I'm not messing up anyone else's nutritional count!!!
Thanks Guys for responding.

I just sent a message to tech support to see if there is a way we can take out the foods we incorrectly input. Hopefully, someone will get back to me with how to delete or correct the items.

| Now I just did one even worse (HA !!) - I typed the wrong nutrition info on a food I added to the database. I typed the wrong serving size... how do I fix this?
|

I made typo also, so that makes three of us who wish you could hit and "undo" button! I have my food in there twice also. Judy

|
| Thanks! That makes me feel better that I wasn't the only one that added an erroneous food. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?

| Same thing happened to me - I added a food twice because the screen hung up on me and I thought it didn't add properly. But then when I searched for the food in the database, it was there twice !!

Help? Is there a way to delete foods that have typos or errors in them? I just got a new mouse and keyboard and they are very touchy and when I added a food item to the database, I accidentally hit add before I was done and it took it but the nutrition info I added was either incorrect or incomplete.
