We made that the default after feedback from members who said they preferred it because they post in many threads on a regular basis.

I noticed when I post a message the box to send me an email is always checked. Is there an option to have it deselected since I can also subscribe to any discussion group?

I saw the post about potentially having a buddy list. That will be a nice addition.
