Hi U,
You would really benefit by clicking on the option to add a food not in the meal plan and then choosing "add a food not listed". Since you already look at the labels, you will be able to accurately enter your scratch food. That's what I do and it works well for me. Don't forget to add things like 1T olive oil, or whatever seasonings you would use in your recipe even if it's white wine that the recipe calls for.

Thanks for the help. I will try to do more comparisons. Most of my meals are made from scratch, and quite plain. Will do my best. I do watch the calories on lables but some of my brands are way different than listed. (I use the blank meal plan option.)
Again thanks for helping.

U,

when entering your meal go to the food search and chose your beverage (or enter it yourself) then use the dropdown to change from 1C to .5C

I'm happy to have the meal plans and see no problem with portioning. The best thing is that you can add your own foods with nutrition values if they are not already listed. I change up all the time and seldom have exactly what is suggeeted.

U,

I don't think there's a way to change the serving sizes, since that would alter the number of calories for your day- and the meal plan tries to keep those pretty standard. If you want to add something that's not in the plan, you can go to "Add a Food" on that page.

Another option is that you don't have to use the meal plans, but instead can just track the food you're eating and turn the plans off (also on your food tracker page).

Hope that helps!

I like the meal planner but would like to know if there is a way to alter the serving sizes. Just one example, I don't drink 1 whole cup of juice in the morning and want to list it as 1/2 cup. Is there any way that the sizes can be changed to match what I really am eating? Also how can I add what I am really eating and not just what is listed? I do keep a hand written journal too.
Thanks for any help.
