Hi Michelle
It's really a technical reason on our side, it would take that Nutrition page a long time to update and reload every time you tracked or checked off a food, if we were to have the pie chart on there.

Not really related to the shopping list but, why don't the daily totals of calories, fat, etc. print at the bottom of the "Todays Full Report" that you get to by clicking the print today's full report button on the bottom of a daily meal plan? Thanks, Michelle

sorry, Minnie, didn't mean to imply that the idea was no good, just referring to your "job vs. spending more time with us" dilemma
We're definitely taking ideas to improve the site and the tools seriously.

| until you create a way to delete your suggested foods, can you add a NULL food to each substitution list? we could then choose it to replace a food we don't want on the shopping list. would have to be done for each undesired food, but better than nothing. sometimes i wish i worked for you. really like the site and want to contribute but must put my time into my job.

I see what you're saying now. We do want it to be a meal planner that you can use ahead of time, and if we're able to incorporate favorites and groupings into that plan, it would help.
We'll take a look at it and see what it might take. Thanks for the feedback, and keep the suggestions and ideas coming!

I guess not, but don't you think it would be helpful to have items you added print on the grocery list? And you can't delete one item out of a specific meal, you can not check it and you can change it, but you cannot get rid of it completely so it still prints out on the grocery list. Maybe having an option to substitute one of your favorite food groupins for a suggested meal may help. As it is now if you don't want to use a suggested meal and you add in one of your favorite food groupings(or indiviual items) you end up with the entire meal suggested un checked and your food grouping below (but not on the grocery list). It seems like it was set up thinking that people would use it after the fact, entering in what they ended up eating. But I think many people use it to plan ahead as well. Thanks for replying so quickly!

Hi Drumpooh! Think some of the confusion might be in how the planner is being used. Generally, the meal plans you see are just that -- foods that you'll plan on eating this week. That's why they're all on the grocery list. Instead of choosing foods by checking them off, you can substitute foods and meals until you get the plan that you want. Checked items are foods that you've actually eaten. Does that help?
Is there anything we might be able to do differently to avoid possible confusion?

I was very confused by the shopping list because it included items I had not chosen (ckecked off) on my menu plan and did not include items I had added in. I see why you would want it to print everything from each meal, but could there be an option to "print all of meal plan" or to "print only checked off items" and could both shopping lists include items manually entered in? Thanks
