Like JoJo I track my calories eaten and burned on a spreadsheet. Keeps me on track. I wouldnt mind seeing this feature then I would have to keep a seperate worksheet.

ummm I would like to clarify something....In reading my own post, it sounded like I said:

"I have a great idea!" but that is not what I meant. I meant that the post I was replying to was a great idea! lol Then I was sharing what I do.
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound snobby!

This is a great idea...I go to another popular free website to do this,(fitday) because they offer that feature...that means adding everything from here over to there which is a big pain in the heiney....but at least I can see I am burning what I eat!

This would be a great feature. Another more advanced feature would be to trend the two variables (or perhaps three, your weight changes too) and provide some feedback on whether your plan should be modified as a result. I realize this would be much more complex but with a good algorihm it could provide very useful feedback.

My husband and I were just talking about this the other night. I think it would be a great idea.

Another thought for tracking calories consumed versus calories burned would be to just total the calorie consumption on the spark main page (just like the calories burned and weight tracked), then you could see without clicking on nutrition where you are at for the day.

I keep track of this on an Excel spreadsheet. I gives my a good idea of where I stand overall when I average my calories out. It's a help but not perfect by all means.

this is easily done in an Excel sheet but will not really reflect your weight loss...you have to get the TMR point right before it truely reflects what you should lose

I agree!! I love this idea. I try to keep track in my home journal, but it is time-consuming!! I'm all for this change.

I LOVE this idea! I am always doing the same thing, trying to figure out my net calories after I have done my exercise for the day. This would really be great!

I find I really use the Nutrition Tracker and the Fitness Tracker alot, but I find I'm always jumping back and forth to see how I did in a day based on how much I've eaten versus what exercise I did that day. I created a short term goal for myself, so I can see my progress, but it sure would be nice to see a chart (just like the calories chart in the Nutrition Section) that takes your total calories consumed minus your calories burned for the day. Then you can see if you are meeting your calorie goal to achieve one pound a week weight loss. There could be a spot where you could enter your goal for total calorie count (per day) required for weight loss (based on BMR/TMR), then each individual could type in the calorie goal as each individual will be different based on weight, height, etc (BMR/TMR Calculation). This would be a great motivational tool and give you an idea of where you may need to step up the cardio or reduce food consumption. I find that the meal planner is great, but the goal is 1200-1550 calories per day, but technically for my goal it's 1300 calories per day, so if I eat 1550 calories, I look to see the cardio I've done to reduce this to 1300.
