Becky:

There is an opening in my department (HINT).

Oh never mind. I don't think the soil here would please you much.

It was productive...it kind of just got out of hand at the end and I also got tired of picking it. I started begging my coworkers to come over and take the vegetables away.

We have a huge veggie garden, but it's about done for now. My husband and I canned 80+ pints of Tomatoes and 60+ pints of green beans. We also had zucchini, onions, green peppers, etc. We have a patch of blackberries that we grow on the other side of our property. I lost count of the number of jars of jelly we made from those...probably 80 or 100.

Anyway, I'm glad I can't see the garden from my window. It doesn't look so good right now. LOL :-)

I'm the lucky one who gets to sit at the window closest to the veggie garden. Whenever I get stressed or develop computer brain I just look to the left and see our lovely garden and instantly relax. It really works wonders.

Oh, I am so envious (in a good way!)
I can't wait to grow my own vegetables...
fresh veggies from the garden taste divine.

I was thinking that the 2 foot zucchini probably isn't too tasty. That is almost too mature.

I'll try to grab some pics of the veggie garden this week and put them up on the site!

Our Tomatoes got a little bit of a late start, should hopefully have some in around 2 weeks. I love cooking and realizing you don't have something, then going and picking it fresh.

there is NOTHING like homegrown vegetables. my grandfather is 88 and still grows his own vegetables. the Tomatoes this season are world class.

Thanks to the hard work of Mike K many of the weeds covering our once beautiful patio have been killed. Nice going MK.

Dave didn't mention that Mike and a couple of others threw water balloons from a window above at Dave and Chris while they were working.

Stay tuned for revenge...

Chris S and myself did some work on the SparkPeople vegetable garden today at lunch. We dug out a 10x14 plot in the spring and are starting to see the benefits! We picked a couple of cucumers yesterday, they were really good. Today we weeded and staked up our tomatoes. When we have the big "harvest" we'll have to try some new recipes and let everyone know how they go!
