| I know what you mean. When i was 13, i'd cry every time i went shopping because i was so overweight. i had no money for healthy stuff either (we still dont). and i had no friends besides my cousin. so i threw myself out there, I started softball. the first and second year i completely sucked but now everyone says like i'm really good and stuff but i dont believe them anyway but i got alot of friends and i had fun. all you need to do is find somethig you like to do, find a club about it, and gain confidense. Like reading? try a book club! sports? join a team! and you can even try making some internet friends off a site like that. And say POSITIVE things about youself EVERY TIME YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!!!! remeber God loves you!

You have been given some great advice! I know being a teen can be very difficult especially when you feel so badly about yourself. It sounds like you want to make some changes so you can be happy. You are in a great place for support. Posting on the boards and joining/posting on some teams is a way to get support and make friends with other teens on the site.
You may want to check out the Resource Center in the wellness section. There are many articles in there that can be helpful for you. Here are a few that I would recommend starting with:
A Teen's Guide to Weight and Body Confidence Optimism and the Power of Positive Thinking 5 Ways to Love Your Body An Exercise in Self-Esteem Why Do We Beat Ourselves Up? Improve Your Self-Esteem with Journaling
Do your best to find the positive in things. It can be difficult, but I'm sure you can find something positive most of the time. Something that I find that helps me get positive and stay positive is to write down 3 things that I'm thankful for. It helps me realize I have a lot of things to be thankful for. Another thing I do, is write down 1-3 things that I like about myself or something that I've done. You may want to try that for a few days and see if that helps you.
You are a beautiful person, you just need to realize that yourself. Keep posting on the boards so we can help you!

I feel really bad that you feel this way about yourself, especially considering that you are so young. I know how you feel because I've felt that way before also. You need to know that you are beautiful just as you are. All of us here at sparkteens are here for you and are willing to support you for your entire journey. Instead of looking in the mirror and finding all the things that you don't like about yourself, concentrate on the good things you like. Also, try talking to your parents about what you are trying to do. Say that you are trying to be healthier and would really like their support in the task. They love you, so they'll understand. You can have fun no matter what you look like. All it takes is a little positive reinforcement about yourself. You should find a shirt or some jeans, or even a hairstyle that makes you feel absolutely great about yourself when you put it on. Then you can walk proudly knowing that you look fabulous. Try to find something new everyday that you like about yourself, even if it's hard sometimes. Pretty soon you'll have more things that you like than you don't. Also, feel free to sparkmail me anytime you want.
We're here for you.

I may only be 13 but I do not always cry. I am crying right now because I am so hurt. I just want to cry and cry and cry though. I want to let it all out. I want to be happy with my life! I dont want to be misserable!
No one will help me, my parent is a bad role model and we have no money to go see a dietician or councellor even and no school councellor because school just finished today. I really want to feel beautiful and I do.... until I look in the mirror. I am SO ashamed of myself... I have NO friends.... the only ones I do have that even come close is abusive friends.
I even missed 66 days off school this year because I was ashamed of what I look like, I even skipped my graduation because I was ashamed. Skipping my graduation made me the saddest.
I want to go out and have fun but Im even ashamed to walk out the door. I hope you can help.
Please :*(
