I think the best thing is, 'Yeah sure weight is important but not THAT imporant!'
Just be healthy. Have a goal. Make it a life style. If i could eat healthy every day and exersise for 30 mins a day i would be SOO happy. But it's hard. But once you are able to do that ^^ Then don't worry. And even now don't worry. It takes TIME

I tried to lose weight and i thought i had but i weighed my self for the first time in ages today and was really disapointed! even though i feel healthier and am much fitter i'm heavier. I think it's all muscle (i like to think so!)

I think most people are worried about loosing weight and looking thinner/leaner and are not concerned about their health. Like everyone else has mentioned your weight cannot tell you how much fat you have or your muscle mass. That's why I am using measurments and body fat to determine my health.

I think it's funny how everyone is worried about their weight now rather than worrying more about their health. So my question is, do most people work out and eat healthy because they want to lose weight, or because they want to improve their health?

Hi Cancun, welcome to SparkTeens! You shouldn't feel embarrassed about your body or weight, especially if you have a lot of muscle mass. When you have more muscle mass, the number on the scale will probably seem higher. But if you take 2 people that weigh the same amount by the scale, but one had more muscle mass, that person will look more lean than the other person. Having muscles is a great thing! Be proud of yourself and your body!

Actually, your BMI does not tell you how much body fat you have. With BMI it only takes into account your height and weight, it doesn't have a way to factor in your muscle mass or fat. BMI is a general and quick measurement, but is a good guideline to see where you are.

No, your weight does NOT tell you how much fat is on you. You might want to get your bpdy fat percentage checked.

I no that I way more than people with just the same body fat as me because I have big bones, and i no that might seem weird, but I have big wrists and ankles. Also, I'm tall, so that adds weight. Many things can play a factor in you weight. Muscle, height, etc.

Getting your body fat checked is the only way to tell how much fat you have. Weight does not tell you that information. 2 people that weigh the same thing can look completely different as the person with more muscle will look thinner because muscle takes up less space than fat.

You can check with your doctor to see if you are at a healthy weight or check your BMI to see where you are. Your body is still developing so you may want to look at the BMI scale for a guideline:
