Five pounds a week is a little much--that's more than we even recommend for adults. Teens, who need more calories because they're young, growing and have faster metabolisms than adults, should only aim to lose about 1 pound or less each week. Remember--the slower you lose, the more likely you are to keep the weight off in the long-term.

| hey my plan is no soda, eat in moderation,and i am vegetarian, drink that whole 8 cups of water (it keeps you full longer) and eat that amount of calories it may seem high at first but you will get used to it and if you drink milk drink 1% or non fat and with my plan i have been losing about 5 pounds a week
