I use to be just like you! Always not wanting people to see me excircising or see me in my shorts, But after a while I realized that its ok to go outside and jog around the block and its ok to let people see you excircising. Because that just show that you care about your body and the way you look and you want to make a change! Right now I'm taking the role of a personnel trainer for my best friend. I'm always having to push her to get her to come with me and jog but she says she's embarressed but I told her we would jog really early In the morning when no bodies out so so far its working and she has already lost 4 pounds! So What Im trying to get at is , Don't be embarressed to excircise!!

I used to be afraid of running on the side-walks in my town because first of all, it is super small and all the time at school or anywhere people say"Oh I saw you running the other day". But I do sort of have an excuse because I am on the cross country team and they don't think too much of it. Otherwise I am doing suicides on my driveway where not so many people are watching.

Yeah I completely know how you feel. I am always that way, I have always been like that. I don't know if it is because I always get made fun of when I do try to exercise or is it the fact of what people will think when they see me exercising. I get nervouse and I freak. I think you just have to keep going and try not to care what other people will think when they do see you exercising. It actually is nice to use it as your motivation, because when everyone see's the results of you "exercising" they will be suprised!

i know how you feel. i am really embarresed to run outside. i live in a small town so whenever i run somewhere, i'm bound to see someone i know :(. i can work out at home though. i feel comfortable around my family and my mom is trying to loose weight as well so something we work out together. but i live on a busy road, basically the main road in my town so i get scared to run anywhere and i don't have someone to drive me to a track or something. so i never really get to run :(.

=D I know how you feel. You are lucky to have a computer (if you are talking about the SparkTeens videos) in your room. The only computer in our house is in the living room so I have to kick my parents out. I'll say, "I want to work out, so can you like...go somewhere?"

I know how you feel. I use to wait till everyone is my house was asleep to exercise, which was a terrible idea because I was being sleep deprived, but I don't sleep much anyway so it didn't matter. Anyway, doing exercises at night is actually a bad thing and I finally got over the fact that my parents and brother might make fun of me and just do whatever I feel is best for me. I think it has to do with the whole idea that I'm rediscovering myself and being coming independent now though.

I know exactly how you feel. I do a tape in my room too, and whenever I hear someone outside my door I would shut it off and hop on my bed and grab a book or something. Well, I used to atleast- but now I embrace it, my brother has always made fun of me because of my weight, but now that im doing something about it- hes only making fun of me for doing a tape because he has nothing else to make fun of me for. I have come to terms with it and I beat him in his own game. Your family should be proud of you, and if not, who needs their support anyways?

As far a exercise, you want to build muscle to get rid of the flab on your upper arms; lift weights (dumbells) and do push-ups (wall push-ups if you're a beginner). This will strengthen your arms so that when you get rid of the flab, you will see definition in your upper arms. Also, is it that you are embarrassed for your family to see you in your workout gear (shorts and t-shirt) or is it the fact that you're exercising period that might be embrassing?

okay this might seem weird but I am REALLY embarrassed about exercising.
I started doing a exercise video in my room when everyone in my house was out but as soon as i heard someone come home I'd turn it right down or if they'd knock on my door i panic about being in my shorts and T-shirt [I'm chubby] so i stopped doing it and i noticed i looked worse than before. I started doing it again today and when someone came home I completely freaked again. I do the video in my room and lock my door but it still, its not normal issit!

I want to start running as well but I need to get over this embarrassment of it first.

ALSO i have a really really hard time slimming my arms down, actually i have never succeeded in doing it so far, any suggestions? its the top of my arms.

Sorry for rant :P
