Yes, it sounds like a great start--and probably is something that you can stick with too. We have some ball workouts on the site--videos and in the Fitness Resource Center (look for the Workout Generator) there to make sure you're getting a balanced workout that hits all of your muscle groups with the ball.

so if i did 10-20 minutes of cardio 5 days a week and used a ball for 15 minutes 2-3 times a week afterwards is that a good work out?

Using a ball is typically strength training--and there's a big difference between cardio and strength training. Actually you need both!
Congrats on sticking with your fitness program! From what you've said below, it does sound like you need to do a little more strength training to target your muscles in addition to the abs. so i have actually been doing quite well with my exercise and eating program although i am only 2 weeks in! i have been doing the cardio video every nigh followed by 10-15 minutes on a stationary cycle bike,with occasionally doing some of the ab work out videos. I was wondering what is the difference between using a gym ball and cardio and is it a better idea to do both after one another? hope this question makes sense!
