| Thats not shin splints. I had them all through cross country season and they really hurt but no bumps showed up.

I can't recall what this disorder is called, it is something in german. I have had this from my bones growing too fast for my body. Now there is a bump that sticks out under my knee cap, and if I get hit there it hurts a lot. It used to hurt a lot doing just anything, but that went away eventually.

As far as I know, shin splints should not cause visible bumps on your shin bone. The fact that you are experiencing that makes me concerned that something more could be going on. If you're experiencing pain and swelling (or "bumps") then I'd avoid walking or whatever causes that pain and make an appointment to talk to your doctor about it.
Take care,
Coach Nicole

When I start exercising like walking or something like that, I get these big bumps on the front of my shins and my legs hurt so bad. It happens all the time and every time. Anytime I've ever tried exercising they just pop up. It's like they burn or something and I get really sharp pains. I don't know what they are but I do know that it stops me from exercising as much as I can. Is there anything I can do? Or something a doctor can do to help?
