Don't listen to your friend. It's VERY IMPORTANT that you eat at least 1,800 calories each day. One way that would help you is to stop eating low-cal "diet" food on occasion. This article is also full of ideas that will help you meet your calorie goals: http://teens.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=593

I have a difficult time getting up to 1800 calories! I fill my plates with a lot of veggies most of the time and those usually dont have calories. Because of this, I get full quickly. I hate eating if I'm not hungry. I try eating snacks but most of my food is low cal. I count my calories and one time my food take added up to like 1541 calories. One of my friends said that its okay to eat that. But on this site it says at LEAST 1800 calories! I dont know what to do!! OH and I'm a vegetarian so most of my calories used to come from meat but not obviously they dont. (I dont eat fish, poultry, meat,or eggs) but I eat Cheese and have milk products
