Delly-
It's great to have a goal like this in mind--it can help motivate you to take care of yourself and work on your fitness.

This article talks precisely about how to: do pullups, pushups and running! It can help you start working towards your goals:

Remember that everyone starts somewhere. You have to start out slow and gradually progress over time. The thing is, you just have to START. You'll get there!

Well, you need space and a cd player. Its a test that you do in school, to measure your fitness level. Look it up online, I'm sure they'll have information.

Thanx so much, I will try looking that up, and I have never heard of the beep test, is it easy to do at home, or do I need to go to a gym or own some really expensive exercise equipment?

Start small, and work yourself up. Have you ever heard of the beep test? If so, to be a police officer you must run at least a seven. What you can do is practice running a little farther everytime, this will help with your cardio. Also, there is an article on here about doing the perfct pushups, look it up =)

I want to be a police officer when I get older, but there is one huge problem. I am very over weight, and very out of shape, to be a police officer I need to be able to run long distances (which I am totally bad at) do a ton of real push ups (which I cant) and I need to be able to do a bunch of chin ups (which I dont know where I can practice them) I cant join a gym, and I really want to be a police officer, it is my biggest goal, does anyone have any ideas on how to get in shape so I can become a cop? running tips, strength training or anything else would be hugely appreciated, thanx alot!
