I'd aim for at least 1800 or whatever the minimum is that your program recommends. Eating too little can hurt your weight loss just as much as eating too much can.

Cosmogirl,

It sounds like you might not be eating enough? Are you tracking all of your food? how many calories do you typically consume each day?

Rainbow,

When you lose weight too fast, a higher percentage of that weight loss is going to come from muscle and not fat. So you might end up smaller, but you'll be a flabby smaller instead of toned.

If you do too much exercise without eating enough, that actually makes weight loss harder. Your body thinks it's starving, so it starts holding onto everything you give it and weight loss stops.

So I'd recommend aiming for a slow weight loss of 1/2-1 lb per week.

Hope that helps,

Im not sure which message board this would go in
but I think I like this one better so here my question
what does loosing weight too quickly do to your body?
If I did alot, alot, alot of extra cardio would that burn more fat? and would it be unhealthy?
