| A good way to increase speed is run fast for about thirty seconds then walk fast for thirty and then run again fast and walk again. Do this as many times as you can until it becomes too hard. Make sure to stretch afterward.

Check out the treadmill workouts in the Fitness Resource Center. They should give you some ideas.
How far can you currently run? I'd work on building up your endurance a little if a mile is about as far as you can go, so maybe you can work up to 1.5 or 2 miles. Once you're comfortable with that, then focus on speed training- sprints and drills like that to help you get faster.

Alright...so...my best mile is 7:59. I want to get it down to 7:30...any tips? Also, what's a good 30 minute workout on the treadmill?? Thnx!! Em
