along with losing some weight, walking is better for your knees in the long run, especially if the path you are running/walking is uneven pavement. so walking has tons of other benefits other than just losing weight :]

OMG, walking is awesome, lol....more power to it I walk with my mom all the time, we don't do it alot now because it's like below 10 degrees outside, lolz! But other than that as long as you get your heart rate up, you are sure to burn some of dem calories off ;)

| As long as you get your heart rate up you should definetly see results. Bringing along hand weights doubles up on the results because you'll tone your arms too.

Yeah, it really helped me a lot! I walked 5-6 days a week for an hour, and I lost 25 pounds! But then I gained it all back because I stopped and started binging :( But walking is great excercise, especially if you're new to it.

I think if you walk fast or something, it burns more cal.
Correct me if I'm wrong, someone. I would love to find the answer to this, since I'm always walking. (I have 2 dogs.)

Does walking 5-6 times a week help you lose weight? Is it actually effective or does only running work?
