awe i had the same thing happen to me!! I almost cried it was so suddon and i could actually FEEL a lump where the muscle was in a tense knot! but any way what helped me was really stretching it out before. So before you start your your mile jog do some simple stretches then after you complete it do some more so they don't tense up. Also make sure your drinking lots of water, like more than you'd think you need because if your sweating alot of water is lost..

These probably aren't cramps, but it sounds like you do have some muscle soreness from working out.

Note: If it doesn't go away, or if you also have swelling or redness, then it could be a different injury that means you need to see your doctor. But it's mostly likely just some soreness from exercise.

NOT moving will typically worsen muscle soreness. Research shows that engaging in lower intensity exercise after a strenuous workout session may be more beneficial than resting completely. There are two types of "active recovery." The first is the typical cool down phase that you perform at the end of your workout. Properly cooling down has been shown to help your muscles recover faster, and reduce the levels of lactic acid in the muscles (so you’re less sore overall and soreness dissipates more quickly). The second type of active recovery involves exercising lightly in the days following a hard workout. So, rather than taking a day or two off from the gym, consider exercising at a lighter intensity level (go for an easy walk and follow up with some stretching, or try some gentle exercises such as yoga, for example). In addition to helping your muscles rebound, active recovery has also shown to enhance relaxation and psychological recovery.

Okay, so I was supposed to do 30 minutes of cardio. Even before I signed up for this site, I would walk/jog (mostly walk) for about 2 hours around the park. Two days ago I jogged in place in my room, because it was too late to go to the park. I bought a pedometer so I could see when I reached a mile. So, I jogged in place my room until I reached a mile.

I walked around my room, and occasionally my house when I got too tired to keep jogging. I kept telling myself "I can do this. I can jog a mile. I know I can." so I did. Not all jogging, but more than I've done. I made myself sweat a little too, which I usually don't do.

So now, two days later, I'm having horrible aching in both calves. I can barely walk without pain, and keep having to limp because I can't walk right.

Now I can't do my cardio or strength training because I can hardly move without hurting so much I need to sit back down. It even hurts to stretch.

Did I just push myself too far? Take more than I was ready for? Should I be hurting this much? How do I get rid of it, or help the pain?

Anything will help..
