Kristy,

I'd recommend 1-2 days per week of rest from all exercise. The reason is that your body needs time to recover from your workouts, and I think you'll find that by resting, you've got more energy for your other workouts the rest of the week.

What you could do is shorten your cardio workout twice a week and do your strength training and cardio on the same day. That way you're still fitting everything in but only working out 5 days a week.

Hope that helps,

At the moment I usually do 5 days of cardio and 2 days of strength training... sometimes it changes. I was wondering how many days should I do strength training if I don't want to loose weight but I want to firm my thighs and abs, everything else is firmed. Also, should I take a day to rest... over the past... 6 months or so I haven't truly had a rest day... sometimes yes... like yesterday and maybe today because I caught a really bad flu virus, my highest temperature was probably around 102 or more.

So, should I have a rest day every week? How does a resting day benifit your workout plan? On the rest day should I still do 30 minutes of cardio for exercise or literally no intense workout?

Thanks for the help.
