BABY-
Please be patient when waiting for responses, especially over the weekend.

From the sounds of it, you may have just a few extra pounds to lose--the less weight you have to lose the harder it is in many cases. But consistency is really important! Also you shouldn't be focusing on just one thing--it's really about a balance of things that will both keep you healthy and help your body reach its best weight. Healthy eating and regular exercise (both cardio and strength training) are important.

Hope that helps.

I don't feel that i'm at a healthy weight...i'm around 5"6 and about 155lbs. My body is nowhere near looking healthy either. My stomach is far from flat and my thighs and butt are not that great either. So what your saying is that maybe i am a healthy weight but i need to turn the fat into muscle?

Another thing, if i just concentrated on strength would, say my stomach that sticks out, the muscle make it flatter or would the muscle just form over the fat and my stomach would still stick out?

BABY-
Well, eating too little can definitely prevent you from losing weight. Make sure that you're eating within the ranges that SparkTeens has recommended for you. When you don't eat enough, your body's metabolism slows down and it doesn't want to drop any weight as a result. But when you're eating well and getting the nutrients you need, your body responds positively.

When it comes down to it, calories are what counts. Too much of anything--even healthy foods--can result in weight gain or hurt weight loss. But that's simply because too many calories cause that. Sugars aren't bad, but they're not super healthy, so try to practice moderation there. Carbs are definitely not bad--you NEED plenty of them.

Another thing that can prevent you from losing weight is if you're already at a pretty healthy weight. Your body is comfortable at a healthy weight, even if it's not what you consider to be "ideal." So try not to fight it. If you've only got a couple pounds to lose, that can also make weight loss more difficult.

Hope that helps,

Nicole

I do a lot of little things that seem to add up to cardio exercise. Such as the hill climbing, cleaning, ect, yet i never seem to be able to loose weight. I'm pretty sure that i've always been under the calorie goal on my list but i've never been able to lose weight. Is there anything else in certain foods besides calories that make you gain weight? Such as sugars or carbs?

Sounds like you're adding a lot of activity to your lifestyle--that's great! Hills and inclines are also even better for strengthening your bones, and that's something that you can never be too young to be thinking about.

It's pretty good, where i working right now i am sleeping in a motor home down a hill from the main house. I have to walk up and down that hill like 4 or 5 times a day sometimes more. It forces me to not only walk, but up hill as well which gives more of a workout. I'm glad that i have to stay there for awhile so it'll give me like 40 minutes a day or more of walking up and down hill.
