Hi Andrea-
Welcome to SparkTeens!

By eating a healthy diet and exercising consistenly, you'll feel better and look better too!

A combination of cardio exercise (like walking, swimming, biking, dancing and running) and strength training (crunches, pushups, etc.) will help you tone up your body. When you strength train a specific area of the body, you're toning up that specific muscle group, but that doesn't mean you'll lose weight in that area. Does that help?

For more information, I'd recommend reading our Teen Health Guides--especially the Weight and Exercise ones. You'll find them on your Start page (under the My Tools tab).

Good luck reaching your goals,

Coach Nicole

I know spot toning doesn't work, but is there any way I can just firm up rather than lose the weight. I'm still in recover from an eating disorder. I want to eat healthy, and NOT lose weight, but still look good.

Any ideas?
