I used to walk when I first tried to include exercise into my daily routine. I used to walk for an hour. But now I get really bored. Even If I have my iPod with me.
Now, I go rollerblading. I don't know if that counts but hey. It's fun.

If you're getting your heart rate up and working hard for at least 10 minutes at a time, you can count that throughout the day. But if it's just walking around the house, etc., I would not count that as exercise.
Hope that helps,
Coach Jen

Thanks - Could it be effective somewhat if it is collected through out the day? I proberly do about 20-40 minutes of continuous walking in one day, the rest is made up seperate.

Yep, you can lose weight by walking. Just make sure you're walking fast enough to keep your heart rate up. 10,000 steps is about 5 miles. Depending on how much you weigh you could probably burn 500 calories by walking 5 miles, but you'd need to be doing that all at one time and not just getting those steps throughout the day as you walk around your house, etc.
Hope that helps,
Coach Jen

Call me lazy, but walking is the only thing I can be bothered to do and keep up exercise wise. Was wondering, if along is a healthy diet and blah blah blah, if it can aid weight lose? I read that 10 000 steps is about 500 calories, does that sound right?
