hiya, well i just read your message and i really dont no what to say.
i do find that my legs have not been getting smaller and have been getting larger aswell, and my mums legs are big so maybe the family genetics is true. well if anyone has any answers for us please help!!

| Excuse me but I dont think anything is going to help me... I just read that this is all part of your family genetics and crap like that so no matter how much I run, sweat and try nothing is going to change, they will maybe get even bigger... Well pretty sad but whatever am I going to do? nah I think I will live with it and besides I tried all the excersizes belove and nothing has even changed me in 2 weeks and I havent noticed any changes at all in one month in fact I have gotten bigger from the excersizes that are supposed to slim your legs down.......................................

ooh cardio is awesome :) i usually run/jog in the least 1 mile 3 times a week, before/after volleyball practice.

| MY LEGS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM...MY LEGS ARE FAT AND BIG AND SOO ARE MY THIGHS..!! I WENT walking TO DAY FOR 60 MINS. AND DID 30 SITUPS ON THE AB LOUNGE WE HAVE WHAT IS ANOTHER THING TO DO TO MAKE MY LEGS SKINNER

| have u ever tried leg squeezes. im not sure if they're really called that but you lay flat on ur back with ur legs in the air and squeeze ur thighs together while changing which foot is in front. we do these for dance all the time and they make ur inner thighs tight.

right i have just read that it is a body controlling thing. so there are lots of types or pilates, like body controll Pilates and toning pilates. http://www.pilates-method-exercise.com/ well i am going to try some things off of this website....u should look and see if it helps.

hiya, well i always thought that too, but i dnt no if it is true or not. because you need to run to get fit.
i am going to look up on the internet what Pilates are, and if i find out i will tell you. i have big thighs and calfs and i have stretch marks, but i have got over them....so mine are worse than ur thighs lol!!

| so wait, should I run to help me get my legs slimmer/skinnier or what because I think that will only make them even bigger... what are Pilates and how do you do them??? My legs are just gigantic and its freaking me out.. my thights are the biggest they are always making me feel embarassed of myself but how do I get rid of them being so big and bulky or is it genetics or something that is making them so big? that is just too scary and sad if it is genetics then im screwed...

Hey. Try pilates, it stretches your muscles so they're not bulky, plus it's not especially difficult and improves flexibility. There probably won't be results till maybe after a week- gotta do it continuously, just like other exercises. Good luck :)

hiya. i know what you mean about trying to get muscle smaller! i have big calfs but they are muscle and my thighs are...well fat!!
unfortunatly i do not know of a way to get rid of muscle..i have tried not to workout and it still didnt work! argh

One I always liek to do it out yourself on a wall ( face the wall ) and squite down to a 90 degree angel with your toes up ( so on your tippy toes ) ( With shoes as well ) then lift back up with your legs, and THATS IT!!!
IT Really tones up your legs, and gets those legs slimmer!

hiya yh...i have not tried this yet but if you follow this it should work
1) lay on your side. 2) lift your knee that is facing the ceiling and then slowly put it down. 3) repeat 20 times.
thats for your hips.
if you try this you can tell me if it works lol!!
i have other exercises which tone your hips on my SparkTeam. if you look on my page it is the how to tone up in 2 weeks.

| I have wide hips and the top of my thighs are big so all my pants are tight around there and 2 inches to big around my waist. Is there any exercise that can "tone" your hips really good or quickly?

HELP....i do not have much of a problem with my body, but everything i eat seems to go either to my hips or thighs!!
however much exercise i do it never works!! and i have stretchmarks on the tops of my legs! how can i make them thiner and toned?

Like I said, you can't pick where you want the weight to come off, so I'd just recommend finding exercises that you enjoy- cardio exercise (running, swimming, biking, etc) 3 days a week would be a great start!

Z,
Most females don't have the hormones that males to to really "bulk" you up. So you should be totally fine to run- that's going to help you get more fit and increase the strength in your legs without making them bulky.

| I used to be a gymnast and have really strong legs. I kinda like how they have that toned look but my thighs are so bulky almost like a guys i think. Is there a way to tone that down because it seems if i do something like running it would just bulk them up more. I need help i don't know wat to do

Hey Audrey! I personally have the same problem but i suggest doing some cardio such as: running, cycling etc. That will help to burn the fat off...then do some excercises that focus of the top part of your legs! it will tone them and increase the muscle strength! making your legs slimmer and more toned. hope this helps!

For strength training, there are some good exercise demos in the Fitness Resource Center. (Click that link and they are at the top of the page.) You can break your workout up into smaller segments throughout the day if you don't have a lot of time, so maybe you could do a few 10 minute walks each day to get the exercise you need.

There's no way to pick specfic parts of your body where you want to lose weight. Your body kind of decides for itself where it wants to put on weight and take it off. But if you're not exercising now, I'd recommend starting to exercise 3 days a week or so. That's going to help you get stronger, more fit, and tone your muscles.
