well, sometimes they say insomnia is a sign of depression. are you depressed?
umm...i have that problem too...i wonder if its an age thing...
When you're awake are you just watching TV and reading or are you up dancing and moving about? That may help tire you out. It'll make you too tired to think. That's what I do. I try to make sure that I'm not veggetating around the house because for me that contributes to my restlessness at night. I'm just not tired enough. And when you're 14/15 with a metabolism that's faster than its been in a longtime---it takes a lot to make you tired.
So try working out your body and your mind a lot...make yourself too tired to think. and try not to sleep for a long time because the longer you sleep the sleepier you get. if that makes sense. so just try to get no more than 10 to 11 hours. trust me, I've slept longer.

Instead of pulling an all-nighter, go to bed tonight at your usual time and then just get up earlier than you usually do. Then tomorrow night, you'll be tired enough to fall asleep but you won't have too much sleep to catch up on. You may have to do it a few nights in a row to get in the habit of falling asleep earlier :)

I wasn't sure where to post this, so. Here it is.
I'm sixteen years old and have a hard time getting to sleep before one AM. I've tried a lot of different techniques, but they're not working.
I can't just lay in bed and wait to fall asleep because I get restless and that wakes me up even more.
I've tried to pull an all nighter and go to sleep the next night, and I've done it. But then I sleep in way later because I didn't get any sleep the night before. All of which puts me back right where I started. -_-
All my lights are covered and there are no noises in my room. Except for my fan, which I can't sleep without.
The problem could be I eat dinner around eight to ten. However, I can't do anything about it because my dad gets home at eight and he's the one responsible for making dinner. Don't suggest I ask my mom to make it because dinner is my dad's only chore. My mom won't budge on that.
Drinking warm milk doesn't help me, although my mom has suggested it along with other people.
I haven't asked my mom about sleeping pills because I don't know what she'd say. Plus I'm only sixteen and I know you can get addicted. I'd rather be able to fall asleep on my own, anyway.
So. What do I do?
Please help. Schools starting soon and I've got a huge workload, so I need to be able to get up early and not be tired during the day.
