Make sure when you do the crunch your eyes are looking up toward the ceiling and your chin and spine aren't curling into your chest. Also check out the core exercise demos in the Fitness Resource Center. There's lots of other exercises you can do to work your abs besides crunches.

When I do crunches I have only experienced pain the muscles in the lower back (like right where it bends) i can do a lot of crunches and different types when it hurts and I never feel anything in the abs... any suggestions?
