SOmetimes if I've had a rough knee day, I take an ice pack to it for about 10-15 minutes (this should be done the day of the problem, to prevent and reduce inflammation). then I use a hot water bottle or one of those hot patches for awhile. It really helps take the pain away, and it helps heal your poor knees!

My knees are taking beating from all this exercise. Dancing/Treadmill
How do I protect them? And Ease the pain that I sometimes feel?
