My number one suggestion is to first accomplish something concrete that doesn't involve food, exercise, or weight. Like you said - a vision board or cleaning your room. You could also finish that book you started last week, garden, write in a journal, etc.

Once that's done, try to make concrete plans so you don't get bored. Try to schedule it around mealtimes. (For example, let's say you eat lunch at noon. Make plans to go shopping with a friend from 1 - 4 PM so you can't really snack during that time period.)

Another idea is to spend as little time in the kitchen/around food as possible. That way, you're less likely to engage in mindless snacking.

I really hope this helps!

Oh my gosh, that's EXACTLY me. I overeat when I'm bored, simple as that. I don't really feel like repeating it, but look at the topic that I made (you don't have to reply to it or anything) and we basically have exactly the same problem.

Having something to do all day is MANDATORY for me, or else my diet and healthy eating just goes up in flames. When my day is super busy, I can make it until like 4 PM and notice that the only thing I ate in the day was an apple or something. But when I'm bored and just roaming around the house looking for something to do, I find myself in front of the computer with a bowl of ice cream to keep me busy.

I really need a new "boredom" activity. :[

Hey guys.

Well, it's summer vacation, it's only been like a week and I'm already going insane. I've had so much spare time that I'm starting to regain my unhealthy thoughts which is how everything started last year. I've worked so hard to think positively about myself but with nothing to do throughout the day I find myself solely focusing on food. I mean I'm starting to feel guilty when I eat an extra APPLE (and it's organic too ^^) even though I know it's perfectly fine. It's getting to be a big problem. I mean last year I exercised excessively. I still do regular exercise, biking, sprinting, gym (3x a week), horseback riding, tennis, swimming, skipping, whatever I can do, I do it but I also can only do it for so long because now I'm starting to loose the pleasure in my exercise because it's not 'my time' anymore. Tomorrow I have a full day, horseback riding and then baking all day for a fundrasier on the weekend, obviously my weekend is pretty packed too so my mind shouldn't have too much time to wander and Monday I'm starting my job so hopefully everything works out. I just had to let some steam out and wondered if anyone else has this problem; eating excessively during summer if you have nothing to do. I mean last year I volunteered and a horse stable 4 days of the week so I was really busy but if I don't end up getting that job on Monday (it's a trial day) then I fear my hard work is going to go down the drain; I'm starting to get mixed voices in my head. The old, old me wanting some tasty sweets my mom brings home for herself and another one that's afraid I'm eating too much even if it's only an apple extra... and I'm having the tendency to count calories again... usually I only catch myself after the damage is done. It's getting tough again and since I'm not in school and can't really go to my friends for support, plus the one person I always turned to is not really in my life anymore, causing more stress for me.

Wow... my life is a little more messed up than I even realised. I think it's time I make that vision board I've been putting off and maybe cleaning my room for some distraction lol.
