| Well start by not buy anything that might contain sweet eat healthy foods and when ever those foods tempt you go and find something else to do or go and read. And you can also start small by buying low fat brownies. And there is a snack that I like a lot it is Rice cakes. And it is yummy and at the same time doesn't contain much calories only 35 cal.

| I do the same exact thing all the time and dsya the same thing to myslef. I have been trying hard to find a motivation so try asking a close friend. See if they can exercise with you and it will be so much easier than if you were alone. If that doesn't work then you will just have to tell yourself that you like your body but want to make it better. You will need to motivate yourself before doing anything.

I do this too, but what I try to do is eat fruit, apples and bananas work best for me. I give the stomach something to work on and it tastes good. Also I drink water.
When I eat something I shouldn't have I feel so bad and wish I could undo it I try not to think that the day is ruined, and if I steer away from junk the rest of the day I consider the day a success rather than a failure(at least I try). You haven't ruined the day before you say "whatever, now that I've had some I might as well eat more and start over tomorrow" when you say that and give in to the urge today is ruined, so I do my best to stop.

| Hi KELLILYNN2008 I think the best way you can start with motivating your self is get together with someone either friends family ect and say rite im gonna give up a certain food for example chocolate for 2 weeks and if i succeed you ow me a tenner or if i give in i owe you a tenner. I did this with my mum we bet on me not eating chocolate and sweets for 2 weeks and i havnt had any for over 2 weeks now it really works coz theres something motivating you. hope i helped

| Wow... I'm really glad I found this website! You guys read my mind. Everyday i start out so motivated, by the middle of the day I've ate crappy food, so I think of the rest of the day as shot and I keep eating junk. I want to lose 15 lbs and all I do is eat sweets. I think its so hard for me because I lost 10 lbs last summer and I'm just mad that I gained it all back and some! I exercise a lot!! I know if I could just get my eating under control I could the lose weight I want too. I run all the time, but I undo it with my horrible self-control.

| agreed. and another thing is, once it's happened you can't take it back. really, that extra piece of cake you had isn't gonna kill you. It might have been a mistake but just fix it in the future, you can't make it disappear.

Eyesoftheworld, that's a great way to look at it! I've never thought of it like that. I always thought "Oh geez, now I have to start all over again!" which is terrible for your motivation. Good advice, I'm definitely going to do that now.

| I definitely have the same binge problem where I eat a lot and say I won't ever do that again. Of course, now that I've made over one hundred of those promises, I realised it just won't work. Since bingeing was pretty frequently I made a goal: first it was to go one day without bingeing, then two then three and so on. I've slipped up a few times but instead of restarting as I would normally do I would just continue on from whichever number of days I was at. It has also helped me a lot to just forgive myself after a slip up, I feel much better and actually MORE motivated afterwards. I'm going on four days now.

| no problemm. god you're full of good ideas i think will definately help. i feel so inspired hahah

|
| yup, thats my exact problem, i always give in and after i regret it and say i will never do it again but i always do. i try to distract my self if i really want something to eat i go upstairs to my room and look at all my magazines and the clothes i want to wear that i cant get into that gives me some motivation or i get a job done iv been putting off to take my mind off things. or try driking a pint of water usually hunger pangs are just cause you are thirsty. if non of that works go out some where shopping and have a look at clothes you really want but cant have ect i find that motivates me a lot. or talk to a close friend i'm sure they will help. talking to you now has given me loads of ideas :P so thanks for replying to my comment cause its helped me too :) need any more advice just reply.

i definitely have the same problem. I eat even when i know i'm not hungry. I know that what i'm doing i'll probably regret later but i do it anyway while i'm doing it i'm just like i don't care i give up. then 10 minutes later i feel so stupid and wish i could take it back.
for me, if the food's there i know i'm gonna eat it. so i try to keep away from it or put junk food in the back of the cabinet. but it's still reallyyy hard for me so advice would be awesome

Try to motivate yourself to exercise first - that way, when you finish, you tend to not think about eating that much. Because if you eat, you would be like: "Wait a minute.. I just undid my exercise!"
Another thing that is already mentioned is that "don't surround yourself with the tempting foods"... That's the best way to get rid of the temptation. @.@ Other then that... watch a movie online. It should get your mind away from it. Or play a video game (which requires two hands, so there's not eating), etc.

Huh, don't I feel the same way. I can't help but to get distracted by food and then eat and then feel guilty and eat some more. It's like some crazy mind numbing emotion comes over me and I eat everything in sight.....
My advice is that you just keep a good track on yourself. Drink lots of water, fight through. If you want to have some junk food give yourself one day of the week to do it. Try to stay on track and exercise as much you can. It makes you feel a heck of a lot better, and whatever you can do try not to spend alot of time in front of the television. Read, write, play cards, listen to music, ride a bike, anything just to get you away from thinking of food. When you watch tv your not really using your mind alot and you are also sitting in a sedintary position which wants you to eat even more. Also the stuff they advertise now with these food commercials is absolutely rediculous! That is half of the reason why people probably start eating after and while watching tv!
Anyways I am sure you will get back on track, just don't give up! I feel the same way all the time XD But don't worry you will do great! Just keep that head high and remember that you want to loose weight and do something good for yourself!

| i hate excercising, so when i found the 15 min workouts on youtube, that upped my motivation to excercise. Other than that, my motivation i pretty bad, too.

I have basically the same problem. :S The best thing to do is to avoid those things as much as you can. However once in a while is fine, otherwise you tend to binge once you finally get it.
I don't think you lack discipline, it's that you should surround yourself with positive reinforcements. For example, get a friend who enjoys walking to go walking every two days. And suggest to friends to limit junk food to weekends and parties. That way your not entirely alone.
Feeling alone is often a big influence on the binging :)
Hope I was of some help :)

| My biggest problem with trying to lose weight is that I give up too easily, I give in if i want some chocolate or something sweet, and just binge then i feel guilty after and swear I will never do it again but i always do. I lack motivation and self disiplin and i dont know what to do. I need some advice please.
