Welcome to SparkTeens! Look at this as a healthy lifestyle change rather than another diet. Being on a diet usually means that you are temporarily changing what you eat/do but you do not change your habits. When you change your habits, you change your lifestyle and won't have to diet off and on throughout your life. A healthy lifestyle should be something easy for you to stick with because you are not drastically changing anything, you are just making healthier choices for yourself (eating high nutrient foods, getting plenty of exercise, etc).
You should be eating your minimum amount of calories (for teens that is no less than 1800). Your body is growing and developing at a rapid pace and you need to keep that in mind, so please do not cut your calories to be less than 1800 a day. Your body needs that fuel for typical everyday stuff like your heart beating, lungs expanding, muscles contracting, etc plus it needs that fuel to help with growth and development. It is just as important to eat enough as it is to not eat too much. When you eat too few calories, your metabolism will slow down and you will store more fat (not what you want to do).
I would recommend that you take a look at these articles to help you get started in the right direction:

| I know you can do it! i myself lost a ton of weight before i use to be 150 lbs. and 5 ft. 1(that was like 2 summers ago) and i lost like 20 lbs. one summer which wasnt really healthy for me. but u should be careful on how u lose weight bc i did it in a nonsafe way and had gotten obsessed and went down to 89 lbs. and at that point i was 5 ft. 2 i was also diagnosed with a mild case of anorexia. i became aware of this and knew i had to do something abt it so i jsut started eating all the time(bad idea!) and now i am 112 lbs. and not too happy with my weight. i have been on the spark plan for about a week or so and i want to lose atleast 10 lbs. by my birthday on april 1st(i am turning 16) i def. know u can do it. just be smart about it and don't starve yourself you will regret it in the end. plus if u just want to get down to 110 then u would need to lose 8 lbs. and with just a little exercise here and there and fewer calories consumed u will be able to lose that by summer if not more!
