You must eat in order to lose weight. It may sound strange, but you should be eating a minimum of 1800 calories each day so that your body gets the proper nutrition and energy. As a teen, your body is still growing and developing so you need more nutrients and fuel which means you should be eating enough for that. If you don't eat enough, you slow your metabolism, and cause other damage to your body. So, yes, you can lose weight without completely removing foods from your diet.

The Nutrition Resource Center has a lot of helpful articles about ways to change your eating habits and how to choose healthier substitutes/options.

Hope this helps!

I have a question, is it possible to lose weight without completely removing foods from your diet? I just need some reassurance that this will work. I am trying to lose a little weight by making healthy substitutions.

Thanks!

My goal this year is to learn how to accept my body, treat it well and stop comparing myself to others. And while I'm at it lose a couple of pounds so I can look toned!!!
