It is not safe for you to try to lose more than 1 pound a week. You are still growing and developing and you need more nutrients than adults do. Therefore you should be eating at least 1800 calories each day. With that, you can still lose up to 1 pound a week, which is a healthy and safe weight loss for your body.

Good luck on trying to lose your 20 lbs. Ask the coaches for some help or reading articles.

i'm new!

i'm 16, 5'2" and 120 lbs, looking to lose 20 lbs lol. i was 108 but then i developed a binge eating disorder due to emotional trauma and gained 12 lbs in like 2 months.

if i could stop binge eating, i'd easily be able to lose the weight i think, i hope.

Well, you should read the articles. It helps out. But, you can ask for the coaches, they help out the most.

You don't have to refuse offers. You can take a small portion of what you are being offered so you can taste it or just say no thank you, I'm not hungry.

It's great if you are exercising, that will definitely help you in your journey! But try to not use that as an excuse to eat more food. You want to create a nice balance of nutrition and exercise.

Keep posting on the message boards here for support! You can do this!

Are you eating nutritious food? Are you calculating your portions correctly? Drinking enough water? Here are a few articles that may help:

Also, joining a spark team can help keep you with motivation so if you haven't joined one, you may want to check them out.

I think I've been overweight my whole life, I THINK??? But, I'd like 2 lose my baggage. It's been buggin' me since 7th grade, badly. As a 8th grader I feel image is gonna b everything in High Skool. Here's my chance 2 b healthy & fit 4 softball, volleyball, basketball, track & field, & hula. Just, reading these MESSAGE BOARDS, I feel this website is gonna make my dream come true. Any tips or b my friend cuz I'm new 4 bout' 3 days now. Talk 2 u l8er!
