My goal is to lose 40 pounds by next summer. I'm slightly inconsistent when it comes to trying to eat healthy and work out (there are some days when I just can't be bothered -- I'm trying to work on that though) and I also want to give myself a little extra time so I don't absolutely have to lose a pound every single week or anything.
I also really want to make a few lifestyle changes. I wouldn't mind eventually becoming a vegetarian (but first I want to try mock meats and find other sources of protein to make sure I'm not lacking anything in my diet) and I really need to cut back on the amount of junk food I consume (which is a slow, gradual process...haha).
Good luck with all of your goals!

Many of your goals sounds great. Please think about making a lifestyle change instead of "dieting" since you want to have long ter success for the rest of your life and not a diet that you will go off of someday.
Also how about eating whole grain breads and while rice instead of avoiding them all together. Your body needs healthy carbohydrates as its primary fuel source for an active life. Whole grain versions are great selections.

my goal is to lose 40 pounds by my 18th birthday, November 13, 2008.
i know it's a really long way's away... but, i'm not a very consistant person when it comes to dieting... and i know it'll take me about a year to get where i want to be.
i plan to cut rice and bread out of my diet completely, along with sodas and beverages high in sugar and calories. i also want to cut down on my caffiene intake and try to eat more fresh foods rather than pre-packaged foods.
just wanted to share.
good luck with all of your goals!
