Sweet foods and salty foods are tastes that are led by our taste buds more then anything else. Some of us prefer salty things more and others prefer sweet. In any case, the more you eat of it the more your taste buds want more. The trick is to meet the need in a limited way (a little each day instead of a lot) and to do it in a healthy way.
For instance, if salty is your thing, try a handful of pretzels instead of potato chips. Less fat, same salty and healthier option. Same works for sweets. Your body and taste buds will love the sweetness of raisins or other dried fruits just like it loves the M & M's but your body will benefit from the additional nutrients that the fruit provides. Try freezing grapes or blueberries or dried fruits like raisins, dates, pineapple, apricots (I started getting Welch's Mixed Dried Fruit packs for a sweet snack) and having them for a sweet treat instead of pies, cakes, or candy.
Hope that helps --

| Yeah, me too! I'm very addicted to all kinds of junk food. I'll eat as much as I want, even if my stomach is stuffed. Every time I eat it, I say that I will start over tomorrow, but I never do. It just keeps on going and going. One of my goals is to do good and have a healthy lifestyle!

I'm not sure what you specific goals are but you definitley want to fit your healthy eating, healthy living plan into your life so you can be successful. Maybe you can't focus on all the goals every day so pick a couple and then build them into your routine. For instance if you picked drinking 8 cups of water as your goal then drink 2 cups before school and then another 2 cups at lunch. You are half way there. 2 more cups after school at the babysitting and then the last 2 when you get home or after dinner and you have it. You want this to be a new way of living and not something special you do - that is the best way to find success.

I just started this whole thing today...I am not so sure if I can keep all of this up with school and everything because of all of the goals I chose.
Also, after school, I babysit, so I can't really do anything with my goals until after that.
If anyone has any advice on how I can manage, please rely to this...
