oftentimes I do simple stuff. Lunches are usually a salad (pour it out of the bag) with 1/2 a cup of pasta on it, and half a can of tunafish for instance. Veggies, carbs, and protein all rolled into one. Pick your favorite dressing and there you go.

You can do iceberg lettus, spring green mix, baby spinach for salad alternatives, and I'll also use leftover veggies as the base such as cooked broccoli or green beans. Then pick a starch such as a piece of bread, pasta, croutons, rice, couscous, or bulgur. You could even do canned beans. protein is also changeable. ham, chicken, tunafish, sliced steak from the night before...

This is my basic meal when I don't know what else to have. I also use fruit as a snack so I always keep apples and oranges in the house. Nature Valley bars are a good snack alternative as well. Portion controlled, 170 calories a piece, a touch of sweet. Have that with a piece of fruit and you're in good shape.

I'm a basic cook most of the time. Bake chicken thighs with garlic powder and a sprinkle of salt. I cook my veggies in the microwave for about 6 minutes in a ziplock bag, and start the dinner off with a salad. Sometimes a starch, not often though.

Does he cook?

I did a quick web search and found a site called reluctantgourmet.com that looks like it has lots of helpful information. They have forums, too.

Have you ever thought of taking a cooking class or classes? If you don't have a cooking school near you, adult ed programs often have cooking classes. They're lots of fun!

I am a new and not so good cook. Can anyone tell me if there is another link for folks like me? I need to know basics and have others who can't cook for support. I try other things but most don't taste very good and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
HELP, I need to feed my husband!
