I agree with the rest. What is on the package is the way to do. Then add everything you add to it separately according to the calories on those packages. Look up only items that don't have the information.

I use the package information first, since it tends to be most accurate.

OH trust me, I've been using the pkg info and making adjustments depending on prep and doing the average thing when need be.......but I just started noticing all the variances and it boggled my mind

If you have package information, that's going to be the most accurate, I would think. As long as you keep in mind that it doesn't account for how you prepare it; e.g., sauces and cooking oils.

It is really annoying!
Just go with the average on everything - you'll be high sometimes, low other times, it's the best you can do!

Is it just me or does anyone else get frustrated with all the different nutrition information out there for the same food(s)? I mean really now, I'm making baked cod tonight.......MY particular pkg says a 4oz fillet is 60 calories etc and so on......meanwhile on the nutrition tracker, there are two different raw cods I could find, both with different calories per 4oz and then doing a generalized search on the WWW is even more frustrating.

A piece of fish, 4oz in size, should have the same information regardless of the brand....at least that's what I call a logical conclusion so what's up with all the conflicting information out there.....and this is the same with FRESH CAUGHT I'm finding.....sometimes I get so irked I feel like just flying by the seat of my pants and to heck with tracking
