Thanks to the Gods for these things! Simply put, I NEED chocolate, and, I NEED salt, but I don't have the will power to put away a bag of chips, nor do I have the desire to deprive myself entirely because if I do that I will fail. I love the portions, and I love that they are convenient and you can mix and match them to your taste and carry them with you. Praise the maker of 100 calorie snack packs! Just BEWARE: some of these can be tricky. You have to watcch the fat.

My nutritionist recommended I keep some on hand. I love the Lorna Doone's and really love the chocolate covered pretzels, but they are very hard to find here in Massachusetts.

I love those Caramel Quakes! Sometimes I crumble them up over some fresh strawberries topped with a little fat free Cool Whip for a dessert.

I sometimes by the 100 calorie Nabisco or Keebler when they are on sale. If you have a Meijer store in your town, they also make a store brand 100 calorie pack of caramel coated cookies that are very good.

it all depends on your tastes and over all nutritional goals...i had oatmeal with soy milk and protein powder for breakfast, and a huge salad with lots of veggies and tuna for lunch...so for me personally...the 100 cal packs satisfy me when i want something sweet or snacky and b/c i ate otherwise fresh healthy food, i don't see a problem with them. and i like that they are portioned out...when i eat out of a big bag it's harder to control how much i eat, as i tend to munch mindlessly and eat more than one serving that way.

Hmmm...not so sure about this knowing the dead nutritional value of eating sweet an salty foods. I suppose once in a while would be okay to curb a hunger if you are having difficulty with your plan, but from my experience, one leads to two, leads to three, and before you know it, you are buying those chips and other things, and then begins the downhill slide again.

Also I can't see the point of having that extra 100 calories just because you have spare calories to get to the top of your limit.

Well done Istarskye for making your own snacks...w2g0. Sounds like a better option.

Cheeers everybody, and good luck with it all.

I like having one in my purse for times when I'm busy & can't take a proper break until my scheduled meal time, but honestly.... they really don't do much as far as curbing my hunger. I really don't like the fact too that there are so many artificial ingredients in almost all of the 100 calorie packs available [the Pepperidge Farm original Chessmen cookies are all natural], so I've been making my own snacks to take with me when I'm out and about. It's healthier, all natural and saves me money.

I love them too but they are expensive and sometimes I can't stop with just one pack. I'd like to make my own but there's no way I could handle all that temptation without digging in. My favorites are Peanut Butter mini rice cakes, the chocolate cupcakes and potato sticks.

They are ok. We don't buy them much because of the cost. Before we started the SparkDiet we used to make a strawberry shortcake with shortcake or vanilla waffers. Now I will be making it with fresh strawberries and the 100 calorie pack lorna doones or oreos, maybe a little plain yogurt or light whipped cream.

my husband and i thought they tasted good but they did nothing for curbing our hunger. :(

we usually buy high fiber, high protein, or otherwise more nutritionally sound snacks when we get paid and i spend about 30 minutes weighing and bagging them. then for two weeks we have a ton of yummy bagged snacks with no effort AND they actually stave the hunger.

I have to admit I love 100 calorie snack packs, all varieties. But what I love even more are the Quakes Rice snacks in caramel or cheese. They are sooo good. They have 90 calories per pouch and satisfy my snack craving totally.

I like them, but they are empty calories. I limit them to one a day and have it with my only diet drink in the evening when I have so many cravings after dinner. Also if I have the wheat crackers, I may add a wedge of laughing cow cheese. I like the choc. covered pretzels. I stay away from the cup cakes, they are too tempting to have more than one pack.

I have mixed feelings about these. They really do seem to make me want more after i've finished the first. I try and bring fresh fruit with my to work every day. I also love pretzle slims with just a bit of cream cheese to make me feel a little more satisfied. At home alternatives i think are always a better fix for a snack.

I have them occasionally, but for the most part, they have too many artificial ingredients for me. I try to limit my snacks to 100-150 calories, and bag them up that way in the morning & throw them in my bag before I leave (for example, 7 or 8 whole grain crackers & a wedge of laughing cow cheese). Then I can grab & eat a portion-controlled snack without all the chemicals.

I enjoy them, but they seem to make me hungrier for more? I rather have a grapefruit with equal on it

I put the 100 calorie packs in my kids lunches, but on occassion (and I do mean occassionally) I have a pack. I try to stay away from sweets, knowing how many calories they are keeps me away from them.

Are these American? They sound like exactly the sort of thing I need!

For any UK sparkers with a sweet tooth lured in by the promise of low cal goodness, I highly recommend Boots' Shaper bars. Ok, so they're all sugar, but somethings a good chocolate bar is exactly what you need - and the chewy nougat centres mean that by the time you finish, you actually feel quite satisfied.

I love them too and at the moment I am hooked on the Quaker Granola Crunchers - sooo good. I do agree they don't fill me though so I don't depend on them as a regular part of my day -just as something to have as a treat. I love the idea of chocolate pudding but because there is no crunch or anything I dont get satisfied

i love them, i buy them at walmart and target where they average around 2 bucks a box. they have so many varieties from sweet to salty. i toss them in my husbands lunch bag and i eat about 1 a day as well. they may not be the most nutritional snack, obviously fruits, vegs, and the likes are better...but those don't cut it when you want a cracker or cookie ;)
and i have read that they make a lot of waste, but i make sure to recycle the cardboard that they come in.

I stick with fruits and veggies. If you cut them up and put them in bags for later, they seem just as good as the 100 calorie packs. Because convenience plays a big role when we snack the snacks easiest to access are the ones we tend to go for.

I bought some of those lovely 100 calorie snack crackers and thought I was doing good until I realized how much fat each one of them had in them. Is there anything out there that IS good?

Curves does have some great bars out there but I try to stick with veggies & fruit instead of those packs.

I found Jack Link's Beef Jerky 100 cal pack is very filling. It has 18grams of protein.

I agree-the 100 calorie Pringles packs just make me want to eat 2 or 3 packs. I'm better to just avoid them altogether.

For me, the 100 calorie pack of anything is just too small and just makes me crave more. It is better for me to stay away from them and eat a piece of fruit or some veggies.

I used them for about 6 months. Now that I'm maintaining, I don't use them at all. I've learned enough about portion control that I'm able to eat without going way overboard. 6 months on lifestyle change and 6 more months maintaining...I think I've got it figured out now...sort of. Lol!

They were a great help tho. I was always wanting something sweet and they were perfect for that. I ate alot of caribou granola bars and special k bars. Yummy! I agree with whoever said it's better to eat fruits and veggies but generally neither of those will curb that sweet tooth for me.

I eat plenty of fruits and veggies, chicken, fish so I see no harm in a 100 cal pack once in a while. I do also eat activia 1x day and snack bars, kashi, special k,

I'm on ww and tract my pts. I don't eat them alot just maybe 2x week. It's enough for my mind to wrap around the idea that I'm not on a diet but a liveit and its not a fad but a way for me to eat for the rest of my life.

For the most part they are just smaller portions of empty calories snacks. Why not try some of the 100 calorie granola bars? I like the Curves Chocolate Peanut bar...like eating a candy bar, but it has a fair amount of fiber and protein, whole grains, etc.

I also eat a lot of crisp apples for a mid-afternoon snack. Keeps me going until dinner.

It's better to grab a handful of carrots/celery sticks. I try not to intake anything with artificail colors, sweeteners, flavors. It's best to put REAL FOODS IN OUR REAL BODIES. For me, I just prefer the
fresh fruits/veggies/raw nuts.

I am a chocoholic and I crave sweets SO bad everyday so I found that if I have a 100 cal pack after a really good lunch or dinner they really save my life. There is a Keebler grasshopper cookie 100 cal pack that tastes just like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie. The best!

I use them for portion control. If I did my own I would eat alot during process of putting it in bags, then with the ziplock not sealed it would tempt me to eat more then 1 pack. Maybe as I lose weight and control is not an issue I will opt for doing my own packs.

I love these. I try to keep a variety to take to work for my mid afternoon snack. I also eat Rice Krispie Treats that are also lower in calories than I thought. They are expensive, but I try to watch the sale papers and stock up when they are on sale and/ or use coupons.

Although pricey, they are a life saver when you just have to have something quick. It gives the portion control and I for one am so bad at.

I have found that the fiber One bars, they are like 140 calories, but they are so yummy and they seem to fill me up more.

I agree they are overpriced....but for those of us that have issues with "portion control" they are priceless. I found most varieties at Costco and this price isnt to bad.

They are overpriced but so much easier than doing yourself. Eventually I will get to the doing it myself but for now I will spend the money to save on the time and temptation.

My son insisted on trying the new Girl Scout cinnamon cookies back when the girls were out and those come in 100 calorie packs. Pretty cool but the flavor was a little off. The kids didn't care for them, but they are okay.

I think they are over rated for the most part. I do like the oreo bars but I'll only buy them if I have a coupon. For most of the other ones you can just buy a big pack of whatever it is and portion them out yourself.

I agree with Madeline they are way to expensive. I usually buy big boxes or bags, measure out and place in a baggie. Get more for your money that way. Here are some ideas I do.
I get Blueberry muffin tops at the dollar tree measure out 3/4 cup and get several servings out of the box, buy Double choc cookie crisp cerel(taste like choc chip cookies to me) measure out 3/4 cup, etc. hope this helps

I do like how easy it is to grab one and go but it does save money to use ziplock bags and portion out 100 calories worth of regular size snacks. But the variety they have is good to! Tasty little things.

I love them! I often have issues with portion control, and these snacks are immensely helpful to me for that reason.

My favorite are the Nutter Butter crisps or the Cheez-Its.

They're a rip off. If you compare the same products to a different size you'll see the difference in price.

I love the 100 calorie packs because it's just enough to tide me over until the next meal. I also have no portion control, so if I buy a big bag of chips, I'll sit in front of the TV and eat like half of it. I love them! Wal-Mart has some 100 calorie packs, but they are the off-brand and they are cheaper. Plus, they give you more choices.

The 100 calorie packs are saving my diet!! I keep a tupperware box in my car at all times with these things. I commute 120 miles a day to work and don't spend any time at home. In the past, I'd stop at the gas station or fast food and grab something when I was hungry. That's how I gained my weight. With these being such small portions of sweet & salty foods, they curb my immediate craving and help my wait for my meals. I love that they have so many options too. I don't really eat chocolate or sweets but salty carbs are my FAVORITE!!! I love the Cheeze-its Party Mix and just plain old cheeze-its. I also love that Rice Crispy Treat bars are only 90 calories and 2.5 grams of fat. Small snack, not a ton of calories.

In an ideal world, I'd be satisfied eating healthy whole foods and I wouldn't still need to eat processed junk. But the reality is that I still crave crap - and the 100 calorie packs make it possible for me to enjoy it and stay on plan. If I tried to forbid myself from having ANYTHING like that, I'd just wind up snapping and eating a whole bag of oreos or something!

I am always looking for new 100 calorie packs I think I have tried them all. I love the fact that you can still have your treats and you don't have to worry about going over board. I love the fact that you don't have to measure the treats just open and eat!!

I make my own "100 calorie packs"
Just take a sandwich bag, fill it with what YOU like. Just make sure you note the calorie content of your treats .

Making it yourself saves so much $$$$$$$$
Those 100 calorie packs in the store are wayy overpriced .

These are a great snack to feed that craving for "junk" food as well as a good way to learn just how much 100 calories equates to in volume. Sure made me realize many calories/fat I was consuming when I would open a big bag of chips and graze while watching tv. Yikes!

Another convenient dessert snack is the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich which comes in at less than 100 calories. Yummy!

I agree with everyone. I love them, they're convenient and a great way to take care of cravings as long as you limit it to one!! I have to travel a lot (by plane) and I keep a variety in my carry on bag so that I'm not tempted by junk in the airport, vending machines, etc. Also keep a pack in my purse so that if I'm out, running errands, etc and hunger strikes I can eat one of them instead of, once again, giving in to junk!!!
I love the goldfish, mini muffins, 100 cal. popcorn(great for watching movies w/the hubby) and the quaker mini delights!!

I take them to work for a "sweet" snack at 2:00. I don't have access to a fridge so I really can't take anything too perishable.

Lately, I've been taking the Quaker Mini Delights rice cakes. Technically, they're 90 calories, but they're close enough to a 100-calorie snack pack.

I LOVE 100 calories packs. I leave room in my meal plan for a salty one every evening. I like the portion control and the fact that I can indulge without going over my calorie limit. I could have something healthier but I do that all day long. I need my little treat once a day.

I like them for work. I keep a variety of some sweet ones like the new Oreo candy bites (yum!), cinnamon struesel coffee cake, oreo/chips ahoy/nutter butter granola bars, and marshmallow treats. I also keep some of the non-sweet ones like cheeto bites and dortio bites. As long as I can limit myself to one it's a great way to still eat my junk but a smaller version!
LOSTINTEXAS
3/17/08 5:29 P

I like them becuase I can feel like I am having a treat without the guilt. I have no portion control, so it's a great thing for me if I am looking for a fix. I can only eat so many veggies in one day and sometimes after dinner I want a treat!
TANGLEDSKEIN
3/17/08 3:45 P

I keep them handy for portion control-the Oreo crisps and the Hostess mini cream filled cupcakes are my favorite dessert ones. If I am craving a treat these fit the bill and I don't have a problem with stopping at one. But it's important to look at the big picture-100 calories of sugary snacks aren't as good as 100 calories of nutrition.
As far as the non-sweet snacks-I love the Wheat thins and the Sun Chips and the new Pringles Wheat sticks. Partnered with a single serving cheese stick and I have a grab and go snack or light lunch. The packages make portion control very easy. I know they're more expensive but they stay fresher than when I make up baggies from large bags.

What do you think about these snacks? Do you think it's good to have on hand for sweet treat or do you think they are full of sugar?
