Frying onions using less cooking oil

I use a little water like the others said, steam them down until they get to the proper texture, then add butter or oil to brown them quickly at the last minute. This is how I do my liver and onions.

I always use a spray like pam and fry my veggies of whatever kind in that. If you need to you can add a bit of water.

I use a stone telfon pan, it holds the heat more consistant and I don't even need the oil to fry onions. Yummy!

Try drying onons in little oil. Forst dry roast in a non stick pan, then add two tablespoons of water and cover for 30 seconds. Add more water if necessary, and later add one teaspoon oil. The onions will steam-fry, and taste as good as when fried with oil.
