1) Congrats!

2) It terms of large celebrations, some families won't understand dieting. So everything in moderation. Even high calorie food can be ok if its an every once in a while thing. Just eat smart before and after, and try to control yourself during the celebration.

3)It doesn't hurt to cut back on the coffee in any case. For a while, I relied on in a lot (I worked/was in class from 7 am-11pm for four days a week). I cut it out and I actually feel like I get MORE done. The adjustment was tough, so I would suggest doing it before finals, but it was totally worth it. It also cut 700 calories a day out of my diet, which rocked.

Well, my first suggestion would be to tell your family and friends about your nutritional goals, "I'm not eating _______ right now". Generally, it's a good thing to let as many people as you feel comfortable know what you're up to with your health.

Coffee in moderation is fine. My personal preference is to use a tsp of Splenda and a couple of vanilla soy milk splashes instead of cream.

As far as the foods go, pick and choose wisely. Anything that is fried, has cream, a dip, is salty, comes with ice cream, etc. is usually going to be the not so good choice.

good luck and CONGRATS on your graduation!
